Dropped in for a late lunch on a Wednesday at Steve’s Ranch Family Restaurant in Jackson, and it was exactly what I needed after a long drive. No wait to be seated, and the vibe is super laid-back—nothing fancy, just a classic, clean spot where locals clearly feel at home. My server was friendly and quick to take my drink order while I looked over the menu. I went with the hot turkey, and honestly, it hit the spot. The turkey was tender and juicy like it had been slow-roasted, and the gravy was rich and poured on generously—just how I like it. It tasted like something your grandma would make, in the best way. Food came out fast (maybe 10 minutes), and everything felt freshly made. I didn’t try any sides or desserts this time, but I’ll definitely be swinging back through if I’m in Jackson again. Feels like the kind of place that doesn’t try to be trendy—it just does what it does well.

I couldn't agree more with some of the other reviews on here. The prices seemed alright or a bit pricey at first, however, when you get your food it's extremely small in quantity and bad quality, which is completely unacceptable. For example, we paid for an order of mozzarella sticks, which cost around $7 plus tax. The server literally brought a plate of FOUR small cheese sticks with a large bowl of store bought salsa. This is not okay! Altogether with just a burger + fries, the mozz sticks, and some pancakes, our total almost came to $100!! Absolutely unacceptable, especially for how little food you get. While the wait staff were kind, the food is extremely subpar, and again, you will NOT get what you paid for! Unfortunately we will not be coming back to this restaurant and cannot recommend it to others living in or visiting Jackson.

One of Jackson's best breakfast spots. Omelettes, steak and eggs, pancakes, French toast, and any variation on eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes and toast you can think of. Coffee constantly topped off by the friendly and attentive veteran staff. Generous portion sizes, cozy western-themed ambiance (try sitting by the fireplace), and reasonable prices. Frequented by an older crowd and business professionals, along with a number of community groups and service clubs who hold their weekly or monthly meetings in the community room. A Jackson institution since the early 1980's.

I was excited to sit down with the family and have some all you can eat fish. The first plate of cod was good, very little grease, crispy pieces. The next plate I asked for perch, that was not so good at all, very fishy smell and taste, it was also salty. Against better judgment, I asked for cod to replace the perch. That was a mistake, I'm pretty sure I started to shrivel up like a slug with salt poured on it. I'm talking there must have been a handful in the batter or something, that's all I could taste. Not only was it salty, the other pieces were chicken strips! Not what I wanted during lent on fish Friday. That wasn't the only downfall, our waitress must have checked out early. She took one drink order at a time, tried to serve our food across the big table, instead of walking around. We had to grab the plates so she wasn't just holding them up in the air wondering what to do. The best thing was the soup, salad and baked potato. So will see if I get the courage to give them...

We ordered the special prime rib and I have to say it was not the worst I've had but I would probably opt for something else if we ever go back my son's girlfriend ordered the chicken strips and fries and absolutely loved her dinner we also ordered the most sticks which were amazing. The soup and salad bar was nice it is small but had great options and everything was wonderful. Our waitress was so wonderful she had a very bubbly attitude and was very tentative to everything. The atmosphere was pleasant and very quaint. We did go on a very non busy time and day so I am unsure how things would be under different circumstances however this establishment seems to have staff that enjoy working there and are proud to have a menu that the items are freshly made. The owners seem to interact well with the staff and have a very established place in their town. I do look forward to trying the breakfast menu as well as the fresh homemade...
