Southern Swells Brewing Co — Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach

If you like IPA, specifically New England Style IPA, this is your spot in North Florida. I'm not sure if there's a "year-round" brew yet (maybe Karate in the Garage?) but there's always AT LEAST 4 variations of NEIPA to choose from everyday. Having said that, they have a great variety to choose from on their tap list. sours, saison (Lyla Joan), coffee porter (Bold Brewed), stout (....S'mores- very good btw) Personal favorite is the FRESHLY PICKED CITRA - currently not on the list The tap list changes often (new releases & guest taps). The brewery looks small from the outside but it's a huge space inside. Nice long concrete topped bar, few high top tables and multiple bench/tables after the bar area. Staff is always friendly and efficient. Sometimes they have Food vendor inside, but can always bring your own or have food delivered to you. Minors and Dogs are welcome as long as they're adult-supervised and must be on leash at all times (the dogs). I hope Corey and Co. brings back FRESHLY PICKED...

Arrived 20 minutes before they opened to the public... on Saturday they host a free yoga event that was very well attended at 11. So when we got there at 11:40 we had to wait for a few minutes for them to open but then also had to wait for the yoga patrons to order their beers. Staff was incredibly fast... and helpful. I had a most delicious and talked about Karate in the Garage. It was delicious. Will definitely go back to sample more next time I'm in the area. Loved the art on the walls by local artists. There's also a room that could facilitate a group meeting... actually several spaces look like they could be utilized for parties including a lively outdoor...

Finally, a solid representation of the New England IPA North Florida. In fact, I would say only Civil Society rivals them for that top spot in all of Florida. However, they are not a one trick pony. They have good offerings of other styles (Not The Gumdrop Buttons -Fruited Berliner Weisse and Bold Brew -Coffee Porter) and are always coming up with more. For beer on the go, they growlers and crowlers. If your timing is right, you may catch a can release, where they sell for packs of some new offerings as well as some of their regular offerings. For the parents, kids are more than welcome. Dogs are also welcome. The atmosphere is really relaxing. I highly recommend...
