This is the BEST Thai food in Jacksonville, period…Coming from California, it’s nearly impossible to find any Thai restaurant that stays true to their heritage and ingredients. This place however; is in a league of its own.
First off: the number one thing you’ll notice is the menu. Brilliant, simple and honest. It’s unapologetic and doesn’t make any attempt at trying to please everyone. No… it stays true to what you’re looking for; authenticity. From describing the dish to listing the actual ingredients. The menu here is a masterclass in what every restaurant should do. Keep it simple, consolidate your ingredients into creating excellence consistently.
Second: The food. Wow. They simply nail it perfectly. The dishes we started with was Pad Thai. This is a quintessential measuring stick we’ve used across the country to gauge how the rest of the menu will turn out. While it may appear simple, being able to present an excellent Pad Thai that reveals ALL the right flavours together, without over compensating with heat is very difficult. Thankfully, we’re glad and grateful this restaurant is here; because it’s the only Thai restaurant in Jacksonville that does it perfectly. Every dish here follows the same truthfully delicious experience.
Lastly, but most importantly is the staff and cleanliness of the location. No weird smells. No dirt, oil residue or stains. Everything is clean and spotless. The decor is modern, but again true to their heritage. The staff is friendly and sincerely enthusiastic to serve....
Read moreAWFUL SERVICE. Ordered a pickup order and accidentally dropped one of the Thai teas outside while getting into my car before I could even have a sip of it - simple mistake on my end. Came back inside, apologizing profusely before I politely asked for a new one, showing him the broken old cup so he didn't think I was lying about it. The man at the front literally SIGHED and ROLLED HIS EYES AT ME. Mind you, the Thai tea is already made, all he had to do is get a cup and fill it up with ice and the beverage. He only had two tables and acted like I was asking for too much. Then, when I asked where I could throw the broken cup away, he ROLLED HIS EYES and SIGHED AGAIN thinking I was asking for him to throw it away for me. I clarified, "No I can throw it away myself, I just need to know where there's a trash can." One thing about me, I am NEVER ever rude to people in service even when I feel like they are being rude to me. I handled the situation as politely as possible, but to roll your eyes at me and sigh in front of me TWICE when I explained the situation and asked very nicely, was very disrespectful to a paying customer, regardless of if I'm dining in or not. I don’t expect five star service everywhere I go, but basic courtesy and professionalism is not too much to ask. Will not be coming back. Treat your...
Read moreThis place is small and has a very quaint atmosphere which I like. The food was really good and is seasoned to perfection. But, the noodles are cooked in a way where they have to sit. For example, I sent my order back after eating it because the noodles had this rubbery texture but the flavor was soooo good. I like my Thai food juicy and most places don't give you enough sauce. So, I asked for extra sauce on my shrimp pad Thai. When the food came out the flavor was some of the best I've had and it was sauced to perfection. When the second order came back it was hot and fresh, but I only had a limited amount of time. I blew on the food, ate a couple of bites and was disappointed that the noodles still had the rubbery texture; but again, the flavor was fantastic. I didn't have time to send that order back because I had to get back to a class I was taking in the area. We were on a lunch break. Once I got to class and got settled, I took out my plate to eat thinking I was going to be disappointed but the noodles were perfect. The only downside was that my food had gotten cold by then but the flavor was perfection...and it was sauced just right. So,...
