So this is my first visit here at sushi factory because I was going to grab something for a friend at tropical smoothie. It was very efficient and very quick. I ordered three rolls for $10.95+ some sashimi. Two of the rolls were 8-piece while 1, the yellow tail, was 6-piece. I ordered spicy tuna, yellowtail and I Philadelphia roll with no avocado. I received imitation crab meat with cream cheese. WTH is that? And I was missing my ginger salad that came with the rolls (as an option: ginger salad, fried rice, steamed rice, or miso soup) I spoke to the lady over the phone asking her was it a mistake that my Philadelphia roll did not have any smoke salmon in it? She said oh well you said you live in DC, right? Well in different cities they may do it differently. I said âwell, never in my life have I ever seen a Philadelphia roll with imitation crab meat and cream cheese. Itâs supposed to be like lox and bagels. So it should be smoked salmon, cream cheese and green onion and some people put avocado in it thatâs why I said no avocado.â And I told her I couldnât eat it and I would be back. I came back to ask her cause she gave me the ginger salad that came with the order and she went to go get it and then I asked: â what do you call smoked salmon, cream cheese and scallions as a roll?â She looked confused and said oh well do you know if you want that you can order it and you can modify it like that when you order it online. I said well where is that on the menu? because thatâs what I want and was expecting and nowhere in America have I ever seen a Philadelphia roll coming with imitation crab meat. And she once again said âmaybe different places around America, but in Jacksonville itâs like this.â (which is not true because in Publix and Philadelphia roll has the smoke salmon and cream cheese etc.) I said âOK well, can I get that and how do I order that?â and she said âoh you can just order it when you order online.â And Iâm telling her, that I donât want the imitation crab meat roll that they put in there and I want to order the correct roll right now and if she wants to keep my business, she should probably go ahead and probably do that for me. She was just saying I could order it later and Iâm asking her can I order it right now because thatâs what I want. I want to eat that may I place the order right now? Is she proceeds to walk away on the phone and Iâm like , So youâre going to ignore the customer in front of you? And she walked away and I went to go pick up a menu but I went ahead and just dropped it because I will not be coming back here. If you want someoneâs business you mean to make it clear and then Iâm trying to understand your mistake and still continue to do business with you but you got rude and walked off. Never wanna come back in here again and if theyâre going to be like that then I would advise no one else going there either especially not for Philadelphia roll because they clearly donât know what that is.
A Philadelphia roll is a makizushi (also classified as a kawarizushi)[1] type of sushi generally made with smoked salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber.[2] It can also include other ingredients, such as other types of fish,[3] avocado,[4] scallions,[5] and sesame seed.
Also just a heads up, the ginger salad is nothing but some Romain lettuce and some ginger dressing. It doesnât have carrots it doesnât have onion and it doesnât have radish in it nor tomato like it does in regular sushi restaurants. Rude and horrible customer...
Read moreWell searching more parts of Jacksonville, I came across this little establishment in which I tried their salmon sashimi and it was of impeccable quality. However, I am of the belief that you have to weigh price over quality to determine what is the best deal for sashimi and while the quality was spectacular, the price was steep in my opinion. Now I would venture to say if this place were to offer and all you can eat sushi nigiri and sashimi for say a 2-hour window and they had to eat as much as they could within a 30 minute window to be fair to other patrons.... Say even for 30 to 35 dollars a person..... I would absolutely pay that hi in return for such quality. Now out of the six places that I have been for sashimi specifically, this ranks in my number two simply for the fact that it is the highest grade salmon sashimi that I have had in all of Jacksonville however the number one spot goes to Miya sushi which has maybe only a 5% difference in quality of their salmon for in all you can eat price of $28 for dinner menu. I think that slight difference in quality is made up for for the sheer quantity that you can obtain for a less price. However I applaud Sushi factory because I am very straightforward and blunt about these reviews and all the others that I have been to in the last 10 years don't even come close to either two top options. I will be returning simply because I support a business maintaining such high quality standards even if it does cost me a little bit more every now and then to visit...

Today unfortunately was terrible ! I got about 5 minutes down the road from Sushi Factory when my co worker tells me the bag is leaking something all over her legs and my car, we grab some napkins and she covers the leak until we make it back to our office. Once we open the bag, everything in sight was covered in shrimp sauce. Not only did we not receive any of the extra sauces requested (not a big deal), we also got food that was completely drenched in sauce which was very disappointing. After cleaning all the sauce we noticed one of my co workers rolls was made incorrectly. We decided to call and request a partial refund as the entire bag was soaked and the order was incorrect in a few ways. The woman who answers told me that roll that was made incorrectly was âaccidentally made wrongâ. Meaning they already knew it was made wrong but put it in the order anyways to avoid having to re make it! She then tells me she will refund me 75 cents for the missing sauce and nothing else !! I even offered to provide photos of the spilled sauces all over the food. So disappointed and will never return unfortunately, used to be my favorite lunch spot. I included photos of the top of my sushi container, the bag itself, the opening in the bottom of the bag and the sauce cup showing what was left...
