WHATABURGER, PHILLIPS & JTB
I am from Ohio and have never had Whataburger and I've been here since 2017. I feel its expensive for Fastfood and So last wk after work, volunteer security @ apts. Done early ,,3a.m. &was starving. Bf craving W , ...so BF finally talked me into it&we hit the drive thru at W on Phillips n JTB.
I ordered a kids meal...small burger, fries, coke and cookie. I asked them to PLS ADD CHEESE to my plain burger. AND BF got a single cheeseb, fries, rootbeer. Total... $18.!!!! For a kid's meal and the smallest Burger adult meal . One Burger and one little Burger ..UMMM, WHAT? WOW, I thought, this had better be worth it . THEN, I got excited, BC because I thought it was going to be AMAZING for that price. BF ❤️ WB & ITS ALWAYS HIS GO TO for dining. I was more shocked that he only ordered one Burger ,not a double or two!. But we were worried about finances, as I recently lost my job, before Xmas, due to budget cuts, irony! 😔
CUSTOMER SERVICE... The lady that waited on us at the drive-thru was Fantastic!! I could hear the smile thru the intercom! We were joking and laughing while waiting for our food. She gets 5 stars! She even got BF to up it to large size drink and fries. That never ever happens!
After a short wait...got food, order was correct and big fries on top were piping hot, fresh, salty and perfect!! ( and I don't care for those skinny fries, but I love these!) GOT HOME WITHIN 3-5 MIN AND....... My kiddy Burger was cold and NO CHEESE ... ITt was a sad, small limp plain burger on a cold bun.. BF tried to help and went and got me a piece of cheese for it but it did not work. I took one bite and offered it to the cats who said oh meow no way ...i ended up sad eating my generic bran cereal. I am financially frustrated at the moment and could not do anything for my family for the holidays and bf finally talked me into it and it was terrible and I don't know how long that cold Burger SAT but it was not fresh at all. And worst of all, BF came running in to the living room all upset because his Burger was cold. and terrible... Cold limp burger, unmelted cheese, wilted lettuce and mushy veggies.. he was very upset, but more upset that mine was bad and I did not have a good experience after waiting for this long to try it and I finally said yes. I felt awful for him because I knew he was upset that I didn't have a good experience and we very rarely get to go out to eat. He is disabled and SSI does not pay a lot at all and I just lost my job. This was a luxury we could not afford but decided to treat ourselves for the holidays since we couldn't do anything else for anyone else. We decided it would be our holiday party, just for us. Then I find out BF used our laundry money to pay, , since I was not working anyway, for this meal.
I tried to find the good in everything and I do not like negative reviews that are just someone complaining and like I said, the customer service was fantastic and if I met her somewhere else she would be my best friend because she was such a happy, and positive person that she made me feel good after a bad night..!! But it really did piss me off to get a bad meal for money we did not have in the first place, not your fault I know. But that the fries were the only thing that was good. Wait I lied the cookie was great!! Seriously and I love a good chocolate chip cookie and that lived up to it. But I was very much looking forward to the Burger. And now I will never be able to afford to go back and probably would not anyway because the people making a paycheck in the back could not be bothered to check the sandwiches or at least nuke them?? So if you go there on a weekday around 3:00 a.m. and it is empty for vacant lot please ask them to make you something fresh, which I did not think of, because Whataburger has a great reputation for cooking everything to order. I never once my burger would be something that had been sitting on the rack under the sunlight for half a shift. That is all I have to say and maybe someday , I will try again...
Read more19 minutes in drive thru to get the wrong food! Went inside. Had to actually call out to get anyone to come to the counter. Had to wait another almost 10 minutes for correct food because 30 minutes into breakfast service, they were already out of eggs! Stood there and watched as the cook (I use that term very loosely) took sausage patties out of the fridge and literally put them on the grill for less than 2 minutes! Barely above warm on my sandwiches. Only three people working in the whole place! I guess they were celebrating Halloween by offering frightfully bad service!
Update to my review (now 1 star!): it's now months later from that last lousy experience and I decided to give them another chance. This time two breakfast on a buns and a milkshake in the drive thru. Milkshake so thick I couldn't get it through the straw - basically a cup full of soft serve. Asked if they could just hit it with the blender a little more and got the excuse that with no syrup, it couldn't get any less frozen. I guess people who order vanilla don't get to drink their shakes? Told the kid that all it needed was a little more time with the blender. Manager comes over and tells me that blending longer will make it more frozen (!?) but he'd try. Second shake just as undrinkable as first - it's been 15 minutes in almost 80° weather and still can't get it up the straw!
Even with all this back and forth with the milkshake, there was still time left waiting because it took 10 minutes of sitting there to finally get my food, and I was the ONLY one there! A fast food restaurant that can't make a milkshake and takes 10 minutes to put a sausage party, an egg patty, and a slice of cheese on a bun! Pathetic!
Used to be a big Whataburger fan, but if this is what I can expect going forward, they've lost a...
Read moreWhat can be said about Whataburger that hasn't been said before, you either love it or you dont!! I love this establishment and majority of the food they serve, now that doesn't mean that I'm always happy with every location that I've visited, but unfortunately in the times that we are in, and I know this first hand, it's very hard to have good help, or even those that care about their job and how they perform at it!!! That being said, I've had many great experiences at one location and more than likely a few bad ones, just come with the territory with fast food, especially if your taking out and not dining in. But I don't Grade the Whataburger franchise as a whole, it's different for each location, it doesn't matter if they have the same times, rules, regulations, etc, it always depends on the personnel and how they can adapt under pressure! I personally love majority of the menu items, probably have tried almost all of them, even the breakfast that's offered, love that most locations are open 24/7, after covid some changes were implemented, some still to this day, so could be different in other regions, but I like that I can get my grub on , especially in the late nite hours , that's a big plus for me, but I can assume that most people have tried eating here once in their lifetime, but in that chance that you haven't, you should My favorite is the patty-melt, the whole experience of the onions and the special sauce just brings all together, plus I can't get enough of the fries. So get out, find a location near you, and experience what I'm talking about!!! Be safe, have fun, make...
