Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls — Restaurant in Jacksonville

We spent about $65 with tip. Overall, we could have gotten a much better meal for $65. We ordered two rolls. One as a combo (with soup) and one with a side of tater totts, with a rootbeer and bottled water.

The combo special only took $1 off and did not include a drink. They mentioned they did not have a soda fountain so there was no included drink. Not sure how this is considered a combo solely for taking $1 off the soup.

When the food came out it looked lackluster and tasted the same. The side of tater tots had about 6 tater tots that weren’t even cooked well. I could have made better taters at home in my air fryer. The rolls were nothing special for $21 each, and the rolls we got were supposed to be warm but were not. We wanted to eat outside on their patio as the inside of the establishment had a burnt smell. They had 5 tables outside , two of which had no chairs. And the two tables with chairs only had 2 chairs which were occupied.

Got to restaurant at 11am, ordered within 10min only 3 people in the restaurant. Customer service was great! Owner walked in, approx 20 min later (we were told later when I asked)we were the only 2 people waiting in the restaurant and he just walked past without saying a word to us before disappearing into the back of the restaurant. As my wife and I were getting our food, I asked our server who he was that just walked past us and she said" Oh that's the owner of the restaurant" I said he didn't even acknowledge us with a hello and we are spending $100.00 dollars in take out at his restaurant??!!! The server just kept apologizing and saying " he was so busy" I told her it didn't matter if he was busy We were the only people in the restaurant and the least he could have done was to speak to us and acknowledge since we were spending our hard-earned money in his restaurant!! We visited Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls with our whole family, and the place exceeded all our expectations! We were with our twins, and finding a spot where both adults and kids enjoy the food is a real stroke of luck. Well, this is exactly that kind of place! The children devoured their meals, which, for us as parents, is the best indicator of quality.

I want to give a special thank you to the manager, Vladimir. He was incredibly attentive and helped us navigate the menu. I followed his advice and ordered a dish based on his recommendation—it was absolutely divine! The lobster was incredibly fresh, the bun was soft, and the sauce was perfect. It was a true culinary delight.
