Bub-ba-q — Restaurant in Jasper

I had the opportunity to visit Bubba Que for the first time this past Saturday evening. This is what I experienced. I came into the restaurant and their were a few ladies near the register. Not a hello or any type of welcoming other than "What can I get you?" I told the young lady that this was my first time at the location and asked what she recommended, ribs or brisket. She told me that they were out of brisket. That made it easy for me to go with a full rack rib plate w/ two sides. My two sides were fries and beans. I went ahead and paid for it and gave near a 20% tip for a take-out order. No less than 2 minutes later, I saw someone with onion rings which made me want those instead of fries. I asked the same young lady if I could change the fries to onion rings and I was advised it would be an upcharge. I told her that would be fine depending on the cost. She said it is normally a dollar upcharge but since I've already paid, it would be $4.00. WHAT???? If I weren't hungry already, I would have cancelled the order. I guess it was too difficult to do an open food charge for $1.00 and ask the cook to drop an order of rings. I told the young lady to disregard. 10 minutes later I received my order. No thank you, no enjoy the food, no have a nice evening, nada, zip, zilch. I had to ask her for some utensils and napkins as there were none in the bag. Perhaps, she was not having a good evening and therefore, I extend a little grace. If this is any indication on how the service is at this location, I'd pass on this restaurant. Received very poor service here today. Waited about 15 min to be greeted and put in drink orders. Once we got our drinks we immediately ordered food. It took them over an hour to bring out our food, meanwhile no one approached us to give us drink refills. 45 min into an hour long wait, server comes to the table to tell us half our food is no longer available as it's run out. Food finally gets to the table and the food is cold because it was left in the food window too long, and no one bothered to bring it out.

I wish I could have flagged down the manager, and talked to them, because they obviously weren't doing their job. Our server had a ton of tables inside and 3 tables outside, all of which were neglected. The other two servers ignored her 3 tables, probably because no one ever trained them to help each other out with refills ect. And why couldn't anyone be bothered to come tell the table when you are out of the food we ordered? Our server wasn't the only person working there, and if someone should have 1. refilled our drinks 2. told us as soon as they knew they were out of our food and immediately fixed the order 3. Brought the food out when it was hot rather then shrugging it off and saying it was just that servers problem. Well now this Google review is the...

We were passing through when we decided to stop by and eat. The place was not busy at all. We stood at the counter waiting to be seated for a few minutes as the waitress kept walking by without saying a word to us. A different waitress finally came up and seated us and said that our waitress would be with us shortly. She did, we ordered our drinks and an appetizer. Took about 5 mins to get our drinks. When she brought them, we placed our order. FORTY MINUTES LATER, we ask if our appetizer is coming. She goes, "Oh! The mini chungas? Let me go see." Clearly she had forgotten about it. She went to check and said the kitchen is working on it. However, just a few mins after that, a DIFFERENT waitress brings us our food. We mention the appetizer. She goes and comes back saying the kitchen burned the first one, so they are making it again. We told her just to cancel it since we had our dinner. Food was decent. The pork I had wasn't hot at all though. Even the toast felt like it had been sitting awhile before it was brought out. I will not be eating there again if I am...
