Dos Margaritas Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Jasper

About noon the music in the restaurant sounded like a club. It's obvious the establishment is more concerned with the moral of the kitchen crew than their customers, or maybe they expect their customers to be dragging themselves in at that time after an all night binge. It was a new Mexican restaurant for me and I ordered a meal that I particularly enjoy and use as a barometer for authenticity and quality: Huevos Rancheros. It's not a difficult dish to prepair so I can also at least expect a half decent meal. Not this time. I was served what was without a doubt the worst plate of Huevos Rancheros I have ever endured. I mean, I half expected the rice and beans on the side of the plate to have been under a heat lamp since six in the morning, the top layer of rice crispy while the bottom of the plate was almost cold, the beans crusted over. That is kind of par for the course for an inexpensive restaurant that serves a breakfast dish around the clock. But what made this dish the worst ever was the sauce. Normally the sauce of this dish is tomato based with some spices that give it a unique flavor. I'm not familiar with the exact ingredients in a recipe, and they do tend to change subtly from place to place, but always adhering to at least a semblance of the traditional dish. In this case the sauce was what appeared to be just soy sauce. It was terrible. I'm not much of a foodie but lazy cooking doesn't take too much discernment. This restaurant...

Have eaten here for several years and the food is ok. Our party of 8 had reservations and were seated promptly outside and then.... zero service. I mean no water, no chips, nothing but a heavy dose of smoke as this area is the smoking section for employees and patrons alike. After 15 minutes, we asked the hostess if we could get our waitress. After another 10 minutes we asked again. After over 30 minutes we left. Various wait staff had time to smoke and chat with patrons during this time. 2 servers waited on the other tables on the patio yet seemed to be blind to us, I mean literally refused to look at us. Standing 2 feet away! So we took our money across the street to Pueblo and had exceptional service and excellent food at a better price. So the second star is because they did us a favor by forcing us to a better restaurant. I mean, I get it, I’ve worked in several food service positions, and things can get crazy, but when you have multiple complaints that a table has had no service, maybe get off your butt and check on the situation. 1st time eating there since moving to the area here.. It was close to my new resident which was why I went to check out. The service was good along with the food my guest & I chose to order & have. Everything was handle N a professional, quick an timely manner... I'll be going back for sure & trusting the service along with the food will be just as good an served in a timely & professional manner as this my 1st visit was.. Also it had a bar / lounge area which I'm looking forward to checking out eventually an the over all place was very clean an looked exstreamly nice.... I really enjoyed my time, food, service and my overall experience... I would give it a 5 star rating but it was my 1st time there, so as long as it continues to be as good as my 1st, I'll be giving it a 5...
