Pueblo Cantina Jasper — Restaurant in Jasper

We have been going to the cantina for years not. It has aways been our choice. . Unfortunately, yesterday was bad. Very very bad. I'm never complained in my life. Sometimes it's just not as good as the last time. But aftet yesterday ,I'll never go back. I'm just one person and won't make a difference in their business, but II will tell others I know.First thing,I sat by a window,closed the blind because the sun was in my wife's eyes.They were do filthy. Half inch of dust on them,and it flurries on to our table. The food took a longe time. We went through 2 bowls of chips waiting. Mine tasted like it was cooked in the microwave. Not fresh.My chicken was paper thin,tough,and not fresh. My wife didnt want cold slaw on her fish toco. She asked for tomatoes and lettuce instead. I was charged $2 !!! Just a bad meal. Never got bad food there. I had a stressful day and just wanted a good meal,relax and enjoy my night. I chose not to complain,after such a hard day,I would...

Told the waiter multiple times we wanted shrimp tacos with JUST cheese and shrimp. He asked "want lettuce" we said no just cheese and shrimp. He said "pick de guio?" We said NO. JUST cheese and shrimp. Went through this like 3 times. Finally brings us our to go box.

It was not just cheese and shrimp. It had everything we told him no we didnt want on it. Also wouldnt just let us order 2 tacos and that's all (which I have done several times before at this location and no one has ever told me I couldnt do it before) but made us order beans and rice and everything. So I got my to go order home and had to just give it to someone else. I paid $12 for a whole meal I got to eat none of because the waiter didnt know what "JUST CHEESE AND SHRIMP" meant.

The parking lot is large and inside is great with a lot of space for groups and parties. We came here on a Sunday and after a long hike in the woods.

The Street Tacos (photo) were outstanding I got the carne asada. The hot sauce was not super hot which was a surprise but it had just enough kick.

Chips were fresh and hot and the salsa actually had a kick which is super nice for once! The Cheese dip was gross. The only thing I would tell the manager is that the cheese was like white water. So nasty. Since the place and the other food was so outstanding I will give them a pass on this but I am scratching my head to figure out why they wont fix this.

The rice and beans were the sleeper hit as well. I could NOT get enough of these - the beans are literally worth a trip back (the ones in the picture). Will go back....
