Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Jefferson City

So after raving about $1 coffee at Scooters, I was MORTIFIED when I got one of my friends to bypass Starbucks and go to Scooters, only for her drink to be $7.50!

Worse, though, was not only did they fail to give a total at the speaker box, they handed her the drink before collecting payment. She took the drink from the girl, put it in the cup holder, and then handed over her card. That's when the young girl told her the cost. My friend yeld, "What"? And promptly picked up the drink and tried to give it back.

The topper though was when the perturbed girl stood there holding the card and said something (I couldnt hear), but continued with attitude and said "we've already made your drink".

Luckily, my friend's response was- I can't spend that much on that card. The worker handed the card back, my friend sat the drink down on the counter, and pulled away.

First- if you had given the total at the box, she probably would have changed her order and avoided the whole thing (or went somewhere else). Second, giving a customer attitude is NEVER acceptable.

Besides my $1 coffee, I will not be ordering anything else, sending anymore referrals, or posting Scooter support all over social media (I dislike Starbucks and was happy for the opportunity to compare a company with better tasting coffee at a cheaper price...guess not). I love Scooters compared to the other options in Jeff City. They offer a wonderful range of flavors and can make up basically anything you could imagine if it isn't on the menu. My son loves their strawberry smoothie. I stick to the coffee myself. They have a wait if you hit their peak times like in the morning but it is nothing like the wait at Starbucks in town! When there is no wait it's so quick you feel like you never stopped. They are very conveniently located and easy to get to. Prices are fair and what you'd expect. The staff are always very friendly and my single coffee is ready when I get to the window. They have a handy app for rewards and payment as well that can be used at all their locations. Let me start by saying, I am a huge scooters fan. Ride or die status. I have the coozies, I go to scooters regularly all over the US- it's a problem. But out of all the scooters I have been to, the coffees here have been the worst. Staff is nice! But these coffees are not made with love, and not nearly enough espresso. Repeatedly, they taste like iced milk. The ratios are completely off. Please please please stop guessing and follow the recipe like every other Scooters including the ones outside of Vegas. It's gotten pretty obvious that the staff must be eyeballing measurements when every other location consistently tastes like a real carmalicious and theirs tastes like milk.

They have also been a bit slower than other scooters. I've been to locations where the staff will come outside and take orders when the line gets too long.
