LOVE this place!! The tiki bar vibe combined with a very sexy dining area is the perfect atmosphere for a night out. Our server was FABULOUS. Not only did he give great menu advice, he gave us tips on the do's and don'ts of jersey city nightlife lol. We started with draaanks. My boyfriend had "Scallywags In Sweden". It's like a rum punch. It was too sweet and strong for my taste, but he loved it. I ordered "Surfin The Alps". Our server warned me this may not be for everyone, but I really enjoyed it! It tastes like the holidays lol. If you are familiar with Coquito (a coconut milk based cocktail, made during the holidays in the Hispanic community), this is an elevated version of it. On to the noms! The cornbread was unlike any cornbread I have ever had. Texture was on point and it was super tasty. The carnitas bao was really good! I mean, the bao bun is an incredible vessel for anything lol. The Drunken Veggie Noodle was full of texture and some heat. The Pepper Beef was SO TENDER and delicious. The Korean Style Wings (maple chipotle) were awesome!! They were nice and crispy on the outside and so juicy on the inside. The sauce was the perfect blend of sweet and heat. Let's talk about these Crispy Duroc Ribs. Holy freaking moly. They came right off the bone! The flavor profile was off the charts. You must have these!! Us being the piglets that we are, had to have dessert. The creme brulee was divine. The crack of the first spoonful was music to my ears. The icecream sandwich was so much more than an icecream sandwich. Make sure you get whipped cream in every bite! The best part was, we ate like it was our last meal, and it didn't kill our pockets. We are coming back with friends...
Read moreWe have mixed feelings about this people, so we plan on returning for a second shot.
The good - the food was amazing. The ambience is def something that our table enjoyed. Very chic, dim, and edgy decor. It was perfect. Our was good, but did disappear for a while before returning at times.
The not so good - we made a reservation, but to my mistake for a different day. So when we arrived they didnât have a table available. I asked if we could be put on a wait list, we didnât mind having drinks at the bar until a table opened up. The hosts responded saying âsorry weâre booked for the nightâ. Understood, but how about in the event that a table didnât show up? I work in the nightlife and hospitality industry and that just seemed off. So we turned to leave.
He did mention that a table by the bar had just opened up, which instead of trying to find another restaurant last minute we took it. After we finished entrees, we were asked by a different host to do a favor and if we could get up and be moved to a table they had available to accommodate a bridal party. Now once again, this does happen, being in the industry, I get it. But, one, they could have given us the table from the beginning considering the host told us we could have the table they were moving us to for an hour, also when we received our bill at 493$ between 4 of us, they didnât even take off a round of drinks or possibly a dessert off for the inconvenience of moving us around. That had us leaving feeling like our experience wasnât important the staff. For a 560$ over all tab, I would have expected to be treated a...
Read moreI had an absolutely wonderful time at Cellar 335 and I will most definitely be back (not a threat just a fact). My best friend and her husband live in Jersey City and recommended this place for a dinner one night because they love it and I am thrilled that they did because we had a fantastic time. Cellar was doing their annual "Sleighs n' Leis" celebration with Christmas themed tiki drinks in holiday mugs and they gorgeously decorated with lights and other holiday decor. The ambiance was perfection. Every single person who worked there, including our wonderful waitress, was kind and friendly. They would check to make sure we were doing well, they staggered our plates so that we didn't overwhelm the table, and they were happy to provide recommendations when we couldn't decide what to order to drink or how much food to get. I just really enjoyed being there.
The food and drinks were fantastic. The beef short rib bao bun special was insanely good, some of the best I have ever had. The tikka masala meatballs were also a standout, if I could bottle that sauce and put it on everything I eat I absolutely would. We also had amazing jalapeno corn bread, pork egg rolls, pepper beef, and drunken noodles. It is all served family style so we all got to have a bit of everything which was ideal because everything was delicious and I couldn't have picked a main entree if I had 3 weeks to decide. I'm not a big drinker but I really enjoyed my Rum Rum Rudolph and my friends loved every drink they had!
I definitely recommend visiting Cellar as...
