So my wife and i had been here a number of times, As a Asian/Caucasian couple, this place is by far our favorite place for Indian food.
So lets start with the food, first of all everything is perfectly cooked and spiced, the waiters ask you how spicy you want it to be and it will tasted exactly how you answer it. the portions are generous, and they don't skimp out on the spice, YOU WILL know the definition of the word FLAVOR. At the same time everything is fair priced, we had 1 large Taj beer, 2 Entrees, and 2 Appetizer for around 60USD. Every time we go here, we leave with a big smile on our face and a big stomach we hold onto from the sheer amount of delicious food.
Service - Excellent, you get greeted by this older gentleman at the door who always have the biggest smile on his face, the dining area is clean, well kept, and well lit. I love the back lit blue led theme. The water are filtered, not tap, and the waiters are super fast at refilling them and or answer any requests you have. Could use some work in the bathroom, make it smell better, repaint it and get rid of all the weird crevices' and gunk, but otherwise clean.
Atmosphere - I know it doesn't look like much out front, in-fact the first time we went there the front of the restaurant was underwhelming, however once you stop judging the book by its cover and go inside, it is very much modernized, clean, well laid out for big and small parties alike. did I mention they have a bar?
The menu have a huge selections of dishes, so if you want to do a little tasting go there during their buffet hours, you get 5 Paneer dishes, Naan, vegetarian dishes, 2 deserts, and a bunch of rice and chicken dishes.
over all we've always had a fantastic experience at Rasoi, 10/10 would always go back there. We've been to 3 other places in India square and Rasoi always...
Read moreToday's Mother's day meal was fantastic we were about to go to edison Rasoi II but due to heavy traffic we came to this rasoi and omg we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly the staff was friendly and the ambience is always great my family just loved it mind it we've been dining here since the 90s and today the quality really blew us over like it did the first time! Today's menu was Ultra amazing we'd come more often if the cuisine is this consistent! They didn't have their signature pani puri today but for starters they had samosa, aloo tikki, cholley bhature, dhai Bhalla(vada) which was beyond delcious!; Then there was cashew paneer and hakka noodles with a corn salad on the side, the grill had about 3 chickens(tandoori/malai, (boneless) and one bone-in masala chicken), the naan was ultra soft covered in butter and the rice was soft and fragrant that they topped with peas for veg entrees there was dal tadka, methi matar malai, channa saag, and paneer tikka masala. Nonveg was outstanding the chicken tikka masala was amazing and fresh, then there was desi chicken and i was blown away with their lamb korma today and chicken biryani was just lip-smacking good! For desert there was basundi(thick cold milk with saffron and crushed nuts sometimes rice), shrikhand{(gujju version of Greek Yogurt) with saffron, nuts and it had some tutti frutti(candied fruit)} and of course gulab jambun omg Well Done! My Compliments...
Read moreI started ordering from here about a year and a half ago. The food is usually tasty (they’ve had their slip-ups) and I think their malai kofta is better than most places in the area. however, it always takes forever to get here. Plus, they use their own driver so you can’t really estimate when the food will get to you. When you call, they kind of just write you off and say “oh, 20 minutes” or whatever but then 20 minutes passes. Then 30, then 40, then an hour. It’s annoying, but it’s not why I’m leaving my review today.
The last time I ordered from here, it came surprisingly quick. I thought that it was weird, and when I went to open my food it looked like this… now I can’t say whether or not the food was tampered with, because how would I know for sure, right? But just look at it. When I took that picture, I hadn’t even touched it. Just took off the lid. If that’s the way they sent it out, well, that’s no way to send someone’s food out. I had a bad feeling about it so I didn’t eat it. The chicken was fine (I think. It didn’t look tampered with at least but if it was, the sauce makes it harder to tell) but very rubbery.
All in all, the food isn’t bad, but I question everything else about this place. Sadly I don’t think I’ll be ordering from here again which is really unfortunate as it’s hard to find genuinely good Indian food...
