La Concha Restaurant — Restaurant in Jersey City

I placed a large order here, and now I’m paying the price. I tried to overlook the fact that the younger server rolled her eyes, sucked her teeth at every order, and even threw my bag of food onto the counter — all without any confrontation from me. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and decided not to fuel the fire, hoping the food would make up for the experience.

But when I got home, things went downhill fast. My soup contained raw chicken, and I had already eaten half of it before realizing. Now I’m dealing with severe food poisoning — to the point where I may need to go to the ER. Serving undercooked food is a serious health hazard, and this should never happen.

To make matters worse, the plantains in the soup were clearly old and going bad — yet they were still served anyway. The pork chops were also so overcooked they were barely edible. If customer service is going to be lacking, at the very least the food should be prepared with care. Instead, it feels like no one even checked it before serving. All of that to be ripped off of over $50 too.

Portion sizes were generous, ensuring no one left hungry, and the pricing is very reasonable for the exceptional service and quality provided. 🍽️👏

I just ordered food from la concha the taste brought me back to the island . I had the pasteles brought me back lots of memories from the holidays with my Puerto Rican family .The service from taking my order and to delivery was great...so pleased was I that I called the owner to commend her on how amazing the food taste .It refourtified my previous inclonations.Que Cante mi jente!!!😄 that's why I recommend a must if you are searching for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine...Am not related or in business with but am a very very satisfied customer!!!!!!!!!!👍👍and i will definitely be ordering again soon.
