Legal Grounds Coffee Co — Restaurant in Jersey City

This place is one of those well kept secrets that's slowly but surely having the lid blown off by positive reviews - and I'm going to contribute to that.

The breakfast sandwiches here are nice and tasty - the bagels are great, and the meat is grilled just right. As an added bonus, you don't have to wait in a line that wraps outside the restaurant and around the corner.

Every time I order from here (I usually go pork roll egg and cheese on an everything bagel, a staple of the New Jersey diet), I call ahead and have always been able to walk right in, right up to the counter, and grab my order. No waiting necessary - and who wants to stand and wait when you're just trying to get breakfast?

I haven't had their coffee or much else of their food offerings, but like I said, the breakfast sandwiches are good and I think Legal Grounds is probably my go-to for...

I've lived in Downtown Jersey City for 10yrs, and have seen Chris reinvent this place a couple of times. Now as a father - son team with a perfectly short menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, coffee and juice/smoothies, Chris continues to bring that eclectic neighborhood feel that fits perfectly with the DTJC vibe. Stopping by for one of his scrumptious egg sandwiches (I prefer sausage egg & cheese) and seeing their familiar, friendly faces is a great way to start the day. Keep Legal Grounds...

HANDS down the best breakfast sandwich EVER! Not to mention Chris and Christian make you feel like you’re at home and are such great people. It’s been family owned for decades and is a hidden gem in JC. They do jam sessions the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month from 4pm - 10pm. Crowd usually arrives around 6pm! Go check them out for an egg cheese and avocado (salt pepper ketchup) on the most amazing Portuguese roll that they bring in each morning...
