Marty's — Restaurant in Jersey City

Im sorry in advance as I know this is going to be harsh, but the food i received was absolutely disgusting. Especially the fries. I dont know what's wrong with it but I just started eating some and very literally got a stomach ache. The milkshake was okay but definitely not worth getting sick over. Ended up throwing it away to avoid giving anyone else a health issue. Im on my lunch break and now I have to go back to work sick. Im pretty upset.

In case they reply, please know, the illness was not due to the dairy. One of the fries was meant for someone with lactose intolerance, and I (attempted to) eat the rest. Now hey, lookit, it's a good burger. Is it the best you can get in town? Not a chance. Is it even close? No way. But if you're looking for a good smashburger and fries for $17 in McGinley Square, this is your spot. I got the double cheeseburger with bacon and fries. The meat quality of the patties was low (see pic). They put what looks like one strip of bacon on it. It wasn't juicy, wasn't super hearty even as a double, wasn't much to write home about. The fries were solid. Hard to mess up fries. I sat inside to eat it and the ambiance is hole-in-wall meets employee breakroom.

If you're into big, juicy meat between a bun, you're better off with Park Tavern or Dullboy, which by far have the greatest burgers in town and should be the benchmark for anyone looking to get by selling burgers and...

I had a wonderful experience ordering food with Marty’s the customer service was amazing and the provided fast service. They also had done in options as well! Noel was very polite and greeted me as soon as I walked in! I appreciated the close proximity to school as well so I could grab some lunch during my breaks! I really valued the conversation I had with manager about what they offer other locations as well and he was absolutely friendly! I tried the burger and fries and I can ensure they are fantastic and their banana pudding is to die for!
