At about 12:10 am on June 22nd I went to the Subway restaurant in Journal Square to buy 6 cookies. The cashier put three oatmeal raisin cookies in a box and while she was reaching for the double chocolate cookies, she dropped the tongs on the floor. I was looking right at her when she patted her leg with the dirty tongs once or twice and then reached for the cookies with the tongs she didn't wash. I told her I didn't want the cookies and started walking out. She tried to stop me by saying something but I was not interested in anything she had to say. That woman was going to actually give me cookies she picked up with dirty tongues with no conscious and no guilt possibly making me sick. In the past 11 or 12 years I have eaten at that Subway more than any restaurant in Journal Square and because of what happened, I will never eat there again. Besides that, when I walked in the store, there was a large, long duffle bag probably belonging to a homeless person lying on the middle of the store with its owner nowhere in sight. Read moreSad to say my 1st experience wasn't a good one. I went in to order with a friend. The initial tone I was address with felt rushed even though at the time we were the only ones there (my friend was not near the line). I was rushed to choose my next item for the 2 sandwiches I was building and I guarantee I was already moving swiftly so it felt unnecessary.
As I was choosing my sauces a homeless man entered and the 2 people who were previously rush my order had so much time now to watch the man suspiciously. They didn't move a single muscle they only watched the man as my friend offered to buy him food (my friend approached him). They watched him so hard they ignored to 4 other customers, ready to order, who came in afterwards. They waited at least 7 minutes to receive service.
Their attitudes and patience grew worse and more clear on their faces when the homeless man began to order after the 4 people went. They shouted, and rushed the man, limited what he could order even though it was covered. When my friend wanted to get a cup of water for the man, they refused to give it to them. After all this it was the heartlessness that offended me more than the service. I haven't...
