The Chippery Jersey City — Restaurant in Jersey City

Stopped to get gasoline and saw this small food truck on the side of the lot. I looked online and saw it had good reviews. I decided to try it out and had some fried fish and shrimp with chips. I was delightfully surprised. It was actually really good. The seafood is very fresh and the cooker actually dipped it in the batter right in front me. The shrimp are not big but ok sized, all that was missing was some coleslaw. If you’re on the road in the Jersey City area and have an urge for some fried fish you can stop here because this is a very good option. It’s a very small food truck but the food is freshly cooked with a very big tast! The seasoning on the chips and all the dipping sauces are a nice addition. It was late so they have some late hours which is nice as well. There was no seating available like some food trucks have outside, but probably because there is limited space in the lot., even though it would have been nice to have some tables and chairs to sit. Okay so I don’t mean to be the rain cloud on everyone else’s good review but I did not get the experience everyone else did. For starters, my fish was not seasoned at all. Not even a little bit. Had it been seasoned it would’ve been perfect bc it had a pretty good crunch to it. I got the fish & crab and the crab was also a disappointment. It looked more like a little spider ( it was really tiny) was expecting so much more ! And finally the chips. I really wanted to like the chips. However they were way too salty. I was in queens picking my son up from an a friends, had to stop back thru jersey city on our way home to get this little hidden gem!! I wish it was still down in Bayonne like I had it when they very first opened but I found it still and it was still just as great!! I could’ve just kept going on the jersey turnpike cause we had a LONG drive to central Delaware but this place has those deep fried cookie dough balls n the Oreos woooow!!! I literally HAAAAD to stop!! My favorite treat and I hadn’t had it in YEARS n it was just as good as I remembered!!! Good job guys staying on...
