Banh Mi & Tea — Restaurant in Jersey Village

As a Vietnamese American, I value very much the quality of traditional style Vietnamese food. However the American side of me also loves diversity. As a child, one of my all time favorite street food is Banh Mi Thit. When I try Vietnamese restaurants in places outside of predominantly Vietnamese business areas, like Bellaire, I am fill with curiosity a high sense of taste quality. Banh Mi & Tea seems to meet my acknowledgment for authenticity & environment. The Banh Mi’s that they serve are pretty legit…and then some. They have the traditional taste of Vietnamese Banh Mi down pretty solid, especially the homemade butter. The bread is nice & crunchy on the outside & heavenly fluffy on the inside. Plus, I love their expansion other favors & dishes. I also love the decor of the restaurant because it’s a great mixture of clean & simple modernism & tradition which made it feel welcoming & up with the times. So, i am writing this as i am coming out of the place dissappointed. I am a huge boba fan and this was my first time here, I understand that this closes at 9pm and I got there 8.50, all i wanted was a tea for me and my kid. Only one, to share... BUT, to my surprise, as I was making the line, with about 4 people infront of me, they turned off the menus on the Tvs... Now, this was at 8.52pm- As it was my turn next, they told me the store is now closed.

How rude is it, that 8 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING, they tell me they are closed and wont take any more orders.

So, let me get this straight... costumer service workers, closed on a costumer's face 8 minutes before scheduled closing time...

How is this okey? As a former waitress and bakery clerk. how is this okey in the book of costumer service... ?? It makes me NOT want to spend my money in that business at all.

This place has ZERO costumer...

After my appointment I came across this place and it didn’t disappoint me at all. I came on the day they had special buy 3 and get one free for their Banh mi sandwiches . I also bought the sugarcane drink. The sandwiches were very fresh and crunchy and the veggies and meats were just right amount. I love the spread they put on . My sugarcane drink was just right not over sweet since it’s natural. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is cozy and clean. I end up eating half of my sandwich in the car . lol It was really delicious. The lady that helps me order her name is Huygen. She is very nice and helps me made my order since I was very indecisive because everything looks delicious.😋 Thank you Huygen and I will definitely come back again if I’m in that area. Yes.
