My friends and I frequently stop into The Panera Bread at Copperfield Crossing for coffee and bagels after our aerobics class on Saturday mornings. If there was someplace else nearby where we could get bagels, believe me, we would go there instead, but unfortunately Panera is the only place in the vicinity that sells bagels. However, half the time the more popular bagels (Everything bagels, Asiago Cheese bagels, Sesame bagels, etc.) are sold out by ten thirty when we arrive. This has been the case for the past 3 weeks. If they know lots of customers order these bagels, why don’t they make more? Most all that is left by the time we arrive are the “dessert bagels” (cinnamon crunch, chocolate chip, blueberry, etc.) The service sucks, plain and simple. Cashiers often take an order, then walk away from the register to fill the order, return, ring it up, and then take the next order,. Meanwhile, the line of waiting customers stretches to the door. Most fast food places have figured out that it’s quicker if one person takes the order while another runs to prepare or fetch the food so the cashier can quickly move on to another customer. They never seem to have more than two registers open even on a busy Saturday morning. Although they are friendly, the staff seem to be very young and inexperienced and our orders have sometimes been screwed up or “forgotten. I waited 20 minutes for a Smoothie only to discover the order wasn’t put in to the employee in charge of making the drinks. I have also sent numerous bagels back because they were barely warm when I asked for it to be toasted, and on at least 2 occasions was served an extremely burnt bagel. They run out of Hazelnut coffee ALL THE TIME and have to be asked by customers to make more, since no employees there ever seem to check the coffee bar. The staff does not wipe down the tables or booths very often between diners. I worked as a waitress in similar types of restaurants during my college years and I know that errors are often not the fault of the people taking your order, so I try to cut the cashiers some slack, but as I said — if bagels were available somewhere else close by, I’d never step foot in...
Read moreI don't normally provide reviews, but this one is worth mentioning. We've ordered from this location on average about once every other week (via the Panera app for DoorDash delivery), for the last couple of months. The order has been on time and correct every time. Except today. I was missing the half-sandwich portion of my Pick 2 Frontega and Salad. First, when trying to click on "Track my Order" from the email confirmation, it goes to a DoorDash page for me to log in. From that page, I'm not able to log in, but AM able to log in to the main Doordash.com, but it can't track the Panera order, since I ordered from the Panera app. I called the Panera location, and got a hold of someone. All I said was that I had just received my order, and it was missing the sandwich portion of my Pick 2. She immediately asked if it was the Frontega Chicken, and it was. She was VERY apologetic, got my information, and immediately starting re-making the sandwich, and ask if she could include a bakery item for the trouble. I said I had already received the brownie with the original order but she could surprise me with something. She didn't provide or offer excuses or reasons for the mistake--just quickly fixed what was wrong as quickly as she could. When the order arrived, I was compensated with a full size sandwich, bags of chips, and 3 pastry items. That was above and beyond--I'm used to DoorDash just providing a credit for errors. I didn't catch her name, but she knows what hospitality means in the service industry--can't be perfect all the time, but finding solutions when things don't go right and going above and beyond when...
Read morePanera's is one of the two worst apps that I've ever used, it's terrible: The fact that I need a PIN number to use my digital gift card is annoying, because I have to look for it every time. How come Walmart, Target, or Starbucks don't need a PIN number once the digital gift card is in their app account, and how come it doesn't have a barcode so that the cashier can ring it up easily? Also in the app, my recent purchases don't show up, even if I make it a point at the cashier for them to ring me up as a Panera member. They prefer to use my phone number instead of my member number because it doesn't have a barcode for them to scan, so that's maybe why my purchases don't show. And then I can't find a place in the app to add my receipt and purchase so that it counts towards rewards. In the app, when I try to find the Panera that I am already visiting to order online to dine in because I can't remember my PIN so I have to order online to use my digital gift card, they want to send me to a far away location, it doesn't find the cafe that I'm standing in. Then when I find it using a different search, it tells me dining is not available at this location, but it is, there are tables there, people sit and dine in there! Very disappointing that they discontinued the hot mocha coffee. At this point, I just want to finish using up all the money I still have left in my gift card, otherwise, I wouldn't be going to...
