Please go to the Coco Crepes by Rice University to have the right Coco Crepes customer service and experience. Which is outstanding! I was so sad that this Coco Crepes disappointed big time! I had been here before and it was so good. This time not so good. Inconsistency is one thing I don’t like. I took family that was in town here, showing them (my father who is a professional baker and owned a coffee shop) delicious coffee and crepes. I was so excited until the girl at the register hardly spoke English and didn’t want to give me what I was ordering even though I’ve ordered this exact same crepe the past 4 times I’ve been. She got someone to help her and didn’t have my order right at all. The second person was very kind and took our order with ease. Everything seemed to be ok until we were sitting outside where the table tops are peeling off and will stab you if you are not careful, and a staff member came up and asked who had the salmon crepe as they didn’t have caramelized onions (mind you, this was a Tuesday morning not summer time yet at 10am) Well, then we all proceeded to inform the gentleman we all had caramelized onions on our Crepes. He looked very confused and honestly had no clue what we all ordered. He was very polite though and had us all switch to a different item. Then came out our coffees. My dad asked for a little water in his americano and instead received the opposite. He said he was ok with it. I ordered my usual, a dark, raspberry mocha, and when I took a sip it didn’t taste at all like their rich mocha taste, instead it tasted like hot chocolate. When I opened the lid it looked just like my daughters chocolate milk. I went inside and the girl at the register again didn’t understand and thank goodness for the other lady who was very helpful remade the drink and brought it to me and it was the drink I’ve had all the other times I’ve been. I will say the Crepes were still amazing, aside from their outstanding caramelized onions we were all missing. And the others were very kind (which is why I still gave it 3 stars). It was just a huge bummer this place is not consistent. I hope they will get better, because the true experience and food you receive is outstanding! For now, I will be driving the 40 minutes to go to the Rice University location, especially when...

My family and I have supported this specific location since it has opened its doors. From coming here on coffee dates with my friends in high school, to family breakfasts, this place has been a spot in which I have made many good memories over the years. But the costumer service has ALWAYS been a different story and after what happened today, I am FINALLY about to tell you why...
They have never been the best when it comes to customer service and pleasing the costumer. I’ve watched them handle misunderstandings with us and other customers, and they just don’t seem to get it. Treating an unhappy costumer with respect, understanding and sometimes even compromising (a discount or free coffee here or there can earn you a pleased costumer who returns to give you more business🤯).
The owner was always very pleasing, but his employees were never trained on the importance of how much you can earn from simply being nice to all costumers, even the ones you do not agree with.
Today, they were more unpleasing than usual which with the number of small businesses closing just in the year of 2020 alone, I feel like you’d want to earn what you’ve lost in the prior year.
Additionally, this location now serves all food items on the CHEAPEST disposable plates and utensils. The utensils are the flimsiest disposable utensils you can find and will bend and break when attempting to eat with them. When asked for silverware, the manager absolutely refused to provide silverware, stating they didn’t have any, and instead he wanted to refund our $60 purchase. I told him I found it hard to believe that the location sold all their dining utensils, and that they just didn’t want to do this dishes. The foolish “manager” nodded and chuckled “yeah”. This is completely unacceptable considering he would rather lose a $60 purchase than clean 4 forks.
On a Sunday morning the restaurant was empty, in the past this was not so. Coco’s Crepes and Coffee, you might consider focusing on pleasing your costumers before it’s too late! Bring back your utensils or shift to a fast food...

"We're so sorry to hear about your experience. This is not up to the standard of Coco's Crepes." This is the canned response by management to every negative review, but clearly their behavior doesn't change.
Last weekend was the final straw. We will not be going back. My partner ordered "drip coffee". The easiest possible thing to serve. It literally just has to be pumped out of the thermos. But they made her wait until every other customer who ordered behind us was served before she got her coffee. Why? Because the lady took the order tickets, separated them, and started making them in random order. I was completely done with my crepe and my coffee before she got hers. We will not return. We've given this place too many chances to change.
Original Review:
I have loved this place for many years, but sadly management has let it go and is not maintaining the high bar that it used to be. There is no longer any manager on duty Sunday mornings. The oldest employee appeared to be perhaps 25. There was only a single person cooking food for the entire establishment even during rush. No other employees lent a hand. They charged a customer ahead of us for food they couldn't make and then had no way to refund her money. The poor lady waited an hour for one of the employees to reach a manager by phone and eventually gave up. Wait times for food and clean tables are far longer than they should be because employees are talking rather than working or helping each other. They've had light bulbs blinking for multiple months because they need to be replaced. The TV on the wall was missing the color green for over a year and is now just turned off entirely. The place isn't very clean, and sadly just isn't maintained anymore. I really hope new management buys them out and returns this place to its former glory. It used to be absolutely fantastic, and I...
