Update: After reading the following response from the restaurant staff ("You need to be very careful of what youâre saying because you are not making any sense. It sounds like youâre a hater") to my previous post (see below), here's my response: I think you need to be very careful of what you're saying because you are infringing on my right to free speech and to express my opinion. You can have your opinion however you want about me, but I am not a hater (I am a Christian who goes to church twice a week). I was just relating what happened when my wife and I went there since we were hungry and had a craving for Mexican food for dinner. We just happened to be in the area and saw this place, so we figured this would be perfect for dinner. God knows I'm telling the truth in my below post, and if the service and food were better then I would have posted a much better review (and you seem to be forgetting that I did give a good review for the decor and the music). Now that you responded to my post with an attitude and called me - a customer/patron - a hater, you are only making things worse for your business instead of being understanding and taking the constructive route of ensuring that your staff improve their service. That's what a true leader does. That's all I have to say.
My previous post: We were a bit disappointed with our visit. After entering the restaurant, I noticed that there were a few occupied tables among many and it wasn't a busy time. Once we were seated, the hostess left our table without asking if we wanted anything to drink and it took about 5 minutes or so before a guy finally came and took our drink order. After he returned with our drinks, he turned to leave (without asking if we were ready to order) and I had to call to him to let him know that we were ready to order. The food we ordered was not all that great, and the fried cheese sticks were terrible. I liked the decor and the music in the restaurant, but I just don't understand why the service was bad when it wasn't busy at the time and that some of the food tasted like it came out of a box. I don't think...
Read moreIt takes a lot out of me to have to write a bad review, especially for a place that I enjoy MOST of the time depending on who is working, but today was the LAST AND FINAL STRAW! During my husband's lunch break, he stopped by Don Ramon's to grab him something quick and tasty, but unfortunately, the MANAGER IRMA was working. When he arrived he went to the bar, Irma was talking to 2 other people who were eating together at the bar next to the cash register which is right across the front door, so she can see people coming in and out. My husband patiently waited for IRMA to greet him, give him a signal that she would be right with him or something, but as usual, she didn't, and to be honest, I'm not surprised. I wish I could say it was busy, but it wasn't, so there isn't any excuse as to why she didn't acknowledge him or welcome him! NOW this is what puts the icing on the cake...As my husband is STILL waiting on her another customer walks in (a homeless man), she then makes herself available to greet him, starts a conversation with him, and then he tells her that he wants to get something to eat. At this point, my husband is distraught, gets up, and leaves. I wouldn't be as angry if this were the first time, but she does this A LOT. I've been going to Don Ramon's before it was Don Ramon's, and I can't say I have had Irma speak or acknowledge me! You would think that as a manager who has been there for three decades plus, would know how to acknowledge and greet customers who walk through the door, the last time I checked, this isn't your place of business, and you can't choose whom you welcome. Before my husband and I became business owners, I was a manager for seven years, and it was my job to make sure to treat the company as if it was my own, especially when the owner is not there. You are supposed to be a reflection of himâone more thing before I end my rant about Irma's horrible customer service. Irma, I think you forgot your mask at home because you were NOT wearing it...
Read moreI repeat DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! My family and I went to this restaurant yesterday for my Mom's birthday dinner. This was our first time dining at this place and definitely our last!!! My Mom hear great things about the restaurant however I hate we went there. First of all, they lied to us about a Tuesday night special that was posted on their website. Our waiter and the manager claims the price changed a few days earlier. I informed them their website should reflect all changes, I did have a screenshot of the special.
Secondly, the service for our party was HORRIBLE!!! Even though we made reservations days before we were left standing at the entrance of the restaurant for close to ten minutes! The main waiter seemed as if we were bothering him, hello we're the customer it's your job to serve with a positive attitude!!! Plus I mentioned to him this is our first time here, most business would attempt to give great recommendations and show even more hospitality. Some members of our party received extra crunchy tortillas and they act as if it wasn't a big deal. For refills and any other services we had to flag down the waiters! Also many people in our party didn't even receive refills on their beverages, at businesses it's the waiter's responsibility to constantly come around to make sure the guests glass remains fresh & filled!
To be honest I believe our party was discriminated against because of our ethnicity! The sad part of the whole situation is they behavior almost caused a damper on my Mother's celebration!! Do not support...
