Placed a call to their corporate due to the behavior of Austin mgr. a friend in over 55 residence had surgery. My son offered to pick up from 290 feeder at 1960 where we have eaten for years as neither of us could drive (each own our own cars). The food arrived one plate without dressing (we both ordered LuAnn chicken n dressing with extra gravy) no dressing no gravy. I called explaining neither could drive. My son had gone thru takeout and talked at length about gravy not wanting the dark beef gravy
The young manager was rude , without compassion nor exercising zero initiative. I , too became upset basically shouting suggestion wherein he hung up. I as a retired upper manager of an 11,000 employees federal agency in Houston not once loosing my professionalism or lack of genuine customer service. After those 29 years I served 3 terms = 5 years at Harris County Appraisal Review Board as a board member in addition was a group leader of seven quasi judicial board members and never once raised my voice to the members nor those we served as a board member serving the public. He needs remedial training and didn’t offer any resolutions after our being if that exact alumnus for 20 years. Shame on Lubys and him. The young professional woman that answered, Viviana was checking out customers while explaining to Austin the dilemma and that it wasn’t Door Dash should be commended He was curt with her I could hear before he got on the phone but hoped he would be more cordial to a guest/customer.
I will suggesting at the facility the Mansions van take the residents else where but Lubys has the heart of this demographic for a long time
I called back and Viviano was effusively apologetic saying their was another manager David however he was at lunch would I like for him to call. I left my cell #. Receiving no call back
Monday morning I called the corporate office customer service. Today is Thursday and the message said I would hear within 48 hours. The next two different board meetings which I am an officer I will be spreading the word of Lubys sad downward spiral
The chicken was not cooked thoroughly and DRY plus the cabbage was also uncooked My favorite and standby orders which this was isolated on the...
Read moreThis place is extremely discriminatory against parents or people with children... I don’t know if they have a ton of parents that go there and try to get over on their kids eat free option or what, but I am not that person. This is the 3rd time I’ve come here and had the same problem with the SAME server. And complaints to management means nothing. This time, they had to go forks and spoons at the front of the line…along with to go food containers. I thought, great. Because my 1 year old sometimes is ready to nurse in the middle of a meal so I have to pack up and go quickly… so I figured we could sit and eat and get out quickly if needed.
I get to this one older, mean server…she has an accent (so you know which one I mean), and she says something like, give me the container. I tried to explain that I would use them at the end, and she seemed curt…not listening…and squints her eyes at me as if I was annoying her. I tell her I want one adult meal and one child plate. The child plate will be only sides. I order the adult plate and she swaps the larger to go container for a smaller one (I guess it’s for kids). I get through the line and they charge me for the child’s plate and I asked why. Apparently the free plate is for eating in only. So I tell the woman I came to eat in but the server would not let me take the containers to the table with me. The woman checking me out seemed to not care. So I told the manager. All he did was apologize, and tell me the to go plates are only for the staff to use (why is it accessible to guests just like the plastic ware is?????) and did not address my child plate eat in issue… so I left unhappy, very unhappy.
The only reason I eat Luby’s so often is because I’ve found that my son will only eat Luby’s green beans & Mac and cheese.
I’ve been to a ton of Luby’s around Harris county… this one is extremely un-friendly -...
Read moreThis restaurant has gotten nasty. I first went to it back in 2013. The breakfast used to be spot on. They had a wide variety in the buffet and the food was really good. The service was good, too.
Now, everything has went downhill. EVERYTHING. The food is horrible. The pancakes are very dry, crumbly, and overly sweet. They taste like burnt, dry cornbread with too much sugar. The sausage was dripping in grease. Once I bit into it my stomach started to quiver due to the amount of grease in it. The French toast was black, dry, and really burnt. I'm surprised to why it was even on display. They knew they needed to throw it out. At first, I couldn't even tell it was French toast. There wasn't much variety. It's obvious that they cut back a lot on their menu to save costs. The best tasting thing there is the water from the fountain machine. Not kidding!
The waiters who clean the tables are rude. The one I had the last time rolled his eyes at me and didn't take away my dishes the whole entire time I was there. He just ignored me and pretended I wasn't there. He wasn't busy because he just roamed around the restaurant aimlessly chatting with other waiters.
Even the other customers were rude. Everybody was rude. I tried to hand a tray to a strange bald Asian guy standing in front of me in the breakfast line. He didn't even know the trays were there and stood in line for over 10 minutes looking like he was lost. He looked at me as if I was diseased and then walked right past me to get his own tray without saying thank you.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!!!!!!!! You're better off going...
