The menu is confusing and unclear. The unknowledgeable teen working there could not articulate how the process worked. To make it easy on her I just ordered two of the rolls which they do not allow you to customize. I was served a tray just like you'd buy at the grocery store. It was bland with low quality ingredients that tasted several days old. Their pickled ginger is bright red cut into slaw like pieces. The color is gross and off putting. My son bravely attempted to order one of the customized situations with eel and avocado. He was served a GIGANTIC amount of white rice with four tiny slices of avocados on it and a very small amount of rubbery, stiff, fishy tasting, seemingly microwaved eel. He also ordered strawberry boba tea which was undrinkable because of its artificial syrupy taste. We were the only people there on a Friday evening. As we disappointedly walked out two women walked in who were there to pick up an online order, and the one teen staffing the place stressfully told them they'd have to wait because their order wasn't ready. This poor young woman couldn't handle two orders in under an hour. I have no clue how they'd deal with several customers at once. I would think you'd need to carefully train an employee on how to successfully make and present "sushi." This young woman was clearly ill prepared to be running the place on her own. Management is definitely not adequately training an employee they've abandoned to be in charge. Her purple hair was very pretty though. I would never return. I also experienced some slight stomach cramps when I tried the eel my son ordered. I didn't get sick, but I only tried a small amount. It's also a very low value for the price point. I'm suspicious of this many five star reviews. Please remember positive google reviews can be...
Read moreSushi Bento is a great casual dining experience with wonderful service and satisfying food at reasonable prices. The owner and other staff are always very friendly and helpful. The menu has recently been updated, with new bento bowl combos that offer a variety of options for a great value. In addition to a hearty bowl of steamed rice topped with steamed vegetables, sunny side up egg, fried veggie cakes, and a protein of choice, the bowl comes with any three of a wide selection of side dishes. It's a generous amount of food, and a pretty good deal at around $13-$15 depending on the type of bowl. The location of the restaurant in a small shopping plaza along Medlock Bridge Road combined with the quick service and casual setting make the restaurant an ideal spot for a convenient meal while out and about. The design and packaging of all the meals make them easy to carry out and eat on the go, and the dine-in experience is also very pleasant, with ample seating in the cozy interior and several games available to keep small groups entertained while hanging out. I have been very pleased on numerous visits to Mr. Bento before, and I will certainly look forward to getting...
Read moreMy friends and I went after seeing a TikTok, the food was definitely not as good as described. My friends got the shrimp tempura and they said it wasn't very crispy and was subpar. I got a cooked salmon box and it was some cold shredded salmon shaped into a patty...it did not taste good either. And some TikTok videos were saying there was lots of food in the bento box, but we found that it was just 50% rice (attached picture is my boyfriend's teriyaki chicken).
The only thing that was okay here were the gashapon prices, which were slightly better than the ones at the malls nearby. But many were empty and there wasn't much to...
