I visited Terrazas on a Friday evening due to some great reviews for the new restaurant, so wife, 9 month son, and I went in.
First impression was a great outdoor patio area or front. Lots of high tops and a few tables with fun music playing.
Inside had a great vibe. Modern, but still obviously Mexican, incredibly huge spirits wall which I regret getting up close to browse, and a musician gearing up for some live music which turned out to be covers of well-known music.
We were instantly greeted and accommodated with our seating request. High chairs were available. We saw large groups and families with children. Everyone, including the kids, was happy. I want to point out that it wasn't swarmed with kids, so it still feels like a place adults can go to enjoy themselves.
We were served by Michael, who even though was very busy (may have been short-staffed?), provided excellent service. The management was very present on the floor and always made themselves available to the patrons, ensuring everyone was happy. Support staff was also providing backup for servers. The commitment to service was top notch.
The food was great. We were given hot chips and salsa as you typically get in a Mexican restaurant, except my wife and I each got our own dish of salsa, which I don't always see. Makes it less messy to eat, and something I liked that I pointed out to my wife. My wife loved her skinny marg.
I had Terraza tacos and my wife had a chicken quesadilla. Both were quality with incredible flavor. We got extra guac for my son, who developed a love for it during our trip to Mexico in June. I forgot to snap a couple photos of the food, but presentation was impressive and other reviews with photos are a good representation of what we experienced.
An unexpected experience was that our queso and my wife's margarita were delivered by a wheeled robot which came up to our table with those items. We took them off the tray, pressed a button, and it returned back to its home somewhere. We loved it!
We hung out a while because our son was happy. The music wasn't too loud, so it was easy to stay for us.
We're picky about Mexican restaurants, but we left very impressed and will definitely...
Read moreI always go here every week after trying them a month ago through Doordash. Their house special is to die for. However the last couple times i have gone to pick up, the service has been horrendous. I call in the order and they always put me on hold and then leave me listening to a bunch of people talk Spanish. Finally they take my order, ask for a name I said Jim, and apparently Jim is a foreign name because after saying it 3 times I spelled it and they still didn't understand it. I get to the restaurant and I am sent to go to the bar. I am standing there for 10 mins while the 2 ladies working the bar sit and chit chat. Finally a man comes around the corner and gets one of them to help me. I repeat my name 4 times and she looks at me like she doesn't understand what I am saying. I'm now getting irritated. I had a gift card that had 19.50 left on it and so I decided to eat out as the house special comes to 19.25. Well she attempts to run it and says it declined i said it can't there is 19.50 on it and the order is 19.25. She sits and stares at the register while I wait another 10 mins and my food is getting cold, and says I don't know it declined. I gave her my regular card with over 2000 on it and she said declined now I am livid. Finally another girl helps her and ot goes through on my debit card, but I wanted to use the gift card. So DO NOT try to use a gift card or prepaid card here as they don't know what they are doing or don't accept them. I called the card company and asked why they declined they said they haven't declined as nothing was run. Which made me even more upset. I am probably going to stop going here because of the service. The food is wonderful but if you are treated like trash it kind of ruin it and by the time I got home it was cold so it was really a...
Read more1/12/2024: Excellent service as always. The Cantarito is my absolute new favorite drink, you have to try it! The tortilla soup is the best soup I’ve ever had, again it was amazing tonight. I tried the Birria rolls appetizer tonight, highly recommend!
1/4/2024: Excellent service as always and the ribeye with bacon wrapped shrimp was so tender and delicious! The Cantarito is now my favorite drink, sooo good!
Update 8/25/23: I just had the best soup I think I have ever had in my life, the chicken tortilla soup is to die for! Jessy was an amazing server, she was attentive, and I never had to ask for anything from her, she was on point with extra napkins, and consistently checked on me throughout my meal. The manager was very professional and I forgot to get his name, but he is very proud of their authentic Mexican menu. Can’t wait to try the other soups on the menu thanks to his recommendations. Also, they have improved their chips since my last visit, and they are super thin and crispy, they were delicious!
5/5/23: I have over 20 years of hospitality experience and I was impressed by the service and food this evening! Since it is cinco de mayo I expected slow service since every Mexican restaurant is packed tonight. I was sat right away and had my drink in my hand within a couple of minutes. My food arrived 10-15 minutes after I ordered it, which is...
