Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Johnson City

I went to Applebee's @ 9:00... Hoping to avoid as many people as possible and have a couple of adult beverages... And Dinner...Upon entering and sitting at the bar I was greeted by both the bartender on duty along with one of the bartender's that sat at the bar but was not working... I later found out she was sitting with her Father and another friend I am not sure whether she also worked there or not... They were all 3 visibly intoxicated... The Father became increasingly belligerent and it was obvious he intended to ruin someone's night... Turns out it was mine... He took straws and was blowing the paper wrappers off of them in my direction... The bartender on duty noticed and asked him what if he had hit me with the paper... To which I replied... I think that is his intention... He continued with his sarcasm that was obviously aimed at me and in true Applebee's form the bartender on duty or the bartender sitting at the bar did nothing to put a stop to his behavior... At one point the manager on duty emerged from the back... Giving the bartender on duty the opportunity to ask her... Since she wouldn't... To put a stop to the drunk Father's behavior... I do however believe she was witness to it herself... She eventually sat down beside the 3 of them having conversation and laughing along with them... I think it is important to add I never said a word to the drunk Father... Finally it became so apparent that he was trying to engage me... That I sat there waiting for him to say something to me directly... He had become the very kind of person I had waited 'til almost closing to avoid and I was beyond aggravated... As I left I said something to the bartender and within ear shot of the manager on duty about his behavior... Neither one of them offered any apology... I think it is also important to add that all 3 had obviously been over served...and left driving intoxicated.... Which further proves... not only the obvious lack of concern for the patrons... But their disregard for the safety of the people...

My friend decided we should go to applebees since it closed at midnight. We were immediately seated by our waitress Madelynn and we ordered the $1 drink of the month. We also asked if we could get a water. Within 5 minutes, our drinks arrived. Except the water. We ordered our food the 2 for $26. I got the ribs and my friend got the steak with the spinach dip. We chatted while waiting and 20 minutes go by, no waters no food. It wasn't busy as most of the customers were sitting at the bar drinking and watching the tv. Finally we got the dip and asked for our water. She brought them out after 10mins of waiting. We looked at each other and kind of shrugged it off as maybe she was having an off night. We bit into the chips and they were super stale with a weird taste. The server comes back and low and behold they're out of ribs. So i just order the steak medium. Another 20 mins go by. No food except the chips that are almost gone because we hadn't eaten much all day. She brings out the steaks and I'm honestly apalled. me and my friend ordered the same temperature. mine was bleeding and impossible to cut while hers was perfect. I just ate it the best I could. Then we were asked if we wanted to split the checks 50/50. We agreed and just chatted for a bit. 20 minutes go by and no checks. When we finally get our checks, we are charged $45.94. She had rung up a full meal extra. We had to call another waitress over because she just ran away after setting our tickets down. we waited another 10 for her to come out and then she took the tickets to fix them. All in all, the worst service I've ever had. We did get some discounts but not a lot. I do not plan to go back and my friend is very unhappy as she goes on dates with her boyfriend here. My daughter and I went here to get something to eat after a movie. It was about 9pm and not particularly busy. The girl who sat us appeared sick with symptoms, bored and disinterested. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold where we were sitting. Our server was pleasant and we inquired about purchasing gift cards and there was some confusion about being able to (or not) using the card to purchase this evening's meal. The manager came to the table and we got that straightened out. I ordered Nachos and a beer while my daughter had buffalo chicken wings with bleu cheese dressing. My nachos arrived well in advance of her wings and they were good. When the wings finally arrived they were not the "buffalo" wings she had ordered and he had also brought ranch instead of bleu cheese. At least 15 minutes later she got the correct wings but still no bleu cheese! Waiter stopped at another table en route. Tick tock... finally got the right dressing, ate and asked for my check. Total was $27.00 and change. Gave server my card and after a few more minutes he brought me a reciept for me to sign that showed MORE ITEMS ADDED TO MY CHECK and NOW over $38.00 charged to my card! My daughter who had previously worked for an Applebees had had enough and summoned a nearby waitress to bring the manager ...who arrived even MORE minutes later! He adequately explained away the mistake on the check (I guess) blaming it on something the cook did and the ordering process...and apologized adding that his cook had become frustrated and actually just walked out leaving HIM back there alone to cook orders! Maybe an employee meeting is in order. We did enjoy the food though once we actually got it all. Sorry but I probably won't be back to this Applebees anytime...
