Went there today to sell a very nice gold and diamond men's ring, the man says oh it's open on the back and that's just to save metal, it was bought at Kay's and they told me and diamond exchange told me 99% of diamond rings will be open behind the diamonds for them to breathe and for the light to get through for a better sparkle of the diamonds, yes it was near they're closing time but the man wasn't professional at all, was in and out within 3 minutes he offered not a single dollar when this ring retails for over a $1,000 he also says if this ring was to get a dent it couldn't be repaired and never have I heard someone say any jewelry can't be repaired because it can be. Any jewelry can be repaired as needed and can be done nicely, I ask him twice if he could give me any other recommendations of somewhere I could possibly try elsewhere and would not, he just kept saying your best bet is sell to an individual when I asked 2 or 3 times ok but could u give me another business I could try and never would, he had a sour attitude, but didn't even offer scrap price which I wouldn't take scrap price, this ring I have was much more nice then any men's ring in this place and your employee lost yall some money on a very nice 10k gold/white gold diamond men's ring with 12 small diamonds, and yes the diamonds aren't huge but they aren't the smallest you can get either but for him to just blow it off and not offer a single penny makes ya feel like he was either refusing based off my looks and I know they do that because of family that has worked in a jewelry store or he just didn't want to mess with it cause it was almost time to close, even other place I went today atleast offered something, this place is nothing like kays or diamond exchange at all and for him to just not offer anything and have me in and out in just I'd say 3 min was not professional at all and the 4 other places I stopped agreed that what I had told them said also he didn't seem 0roffessional and didn't know what he was missing on, the pawn shops say they can only buy as scrap price but a place like this should have offered something other then scrap price but didn't even offer that. The man was a tall man, skinny and I think was almost bald but this company needs to get rid of him, I have had 3 other people that I told about this say he was snobby and just didn't seem to want to deal with them sorry for Such a long and bad review but I wanted to be real and honest about my experience with this dude, I was just told he should have atleast even offered scrap but didn't so I'll neve4 go there again nor will I recommend...
Read moreI bought a 14k necklace and pendant a while back from a known jewelry store I also had the receipt for it and everything at the house ..well fast forward to months later I had a unexpected bill come up and I had to sale my necklace and pendant I take the pendant to sgt and the guy test my jewelry under the counter hidden so I was able to see the testing at all… and tells me yeah this says 14k but it’s really 10k & throws me a price and I know that wasn’t the case on the karets at all cuz I paid for it from the store and have receipts like I said earlier so I tell him.. oh really that’s crazy? well why would a certain jewelry place do that? with the known markers mark on the top but on the bottom it stamped something fake that it’s not for the karets ?? The feed back was.. yeah people do that he sees that a lot so the vibe turned into are you sure about that ???…so then he says I’ll show you once I started questioning his “professional opinion “ so he pulls out his test kits and stone, does a 10k test we get no fade on the scratch mark then he goes to do the 14k test and drops a smallllll drop on the very top of the mark to where it’s hard to see and then goes and drops little more once his drop wasn’t how he wanted it and this is just my opinion and judgement on the situation at hand well we pass the 14k test and he says I’ll be damn maybe it is 14k after all. overall he made the situation right on the amount I’m owed if I sell but just wanted to give you a customers opinion on my Experience it’s a great place to go to I guess I don’t ever come to sell but just for the future slow down the process and make the customer feel he had a good experience not that they feel that one was tried to get over on them and I do believe you didn’t intentionally do it but it was a 50/50 on did he try me or was that genuinely a accident… only god knows. I give it 1 star just for that reason over all good place and wish the best for the future ……”not happy “ but over all satisfied customer at the...
Read moreAlways sell my second hand precious metals here. I run an online buisiness buying/selling precious metals.
When I have something that I have a hard time selling or their just isn't a market for it. I'll take it here and they will give me a fair price for it.
I wouldn't recommend selling collectibles such as "1 out of 150" as they will most likely give you spot price. Same goes with U.S. mint items. But that being said, I think thats the case with any store including my own. Which is understandable. As stuff like that is hard to sell.
But as a buisiness owner I would say this is the best place you can sell your precious metals to in johnson city. If you need the money now.
Other places like to short you in cash just to earn that extra 1% profit.
Also they have a very nice selection in rings. Staff is super friendly.
Prices are not...
