SERVICE BY HOSTESS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND DOWNRIGHT RUDE! DON'T COME HERE IF YOU WANT A KIND AND ACCOMMODATING PLACE FOR DISABLED PEOPLE! My wife has a physical disability, severe lymphedema in multiple places. She has been homebound for almost 3 years due to this. This year she has been able to finally make great strides to get this disease under the best control we can at this point. She loves Chinese and loves this place. So we decided that we would make this a lunch date once a week to come here right at opening (11am-1130am) during the weekdays when it is not busy. We came last week on a Saturday at opening and the staff were super nice and allowed us to sit at the round corner booth so that my wife could be confortable and have the adequate amount of room she needs due to her disability and mobility issues. Fast forward to today & A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY! Today, a Thursday, we came to eat at 1130am. They opened at 11am. Hardly anyone inside the restaurant. The hostess told us we could not sit at the round corner booth because it is reserved for parties of 6 or more and that it was lunch time and would be busy. This is the SAME hostess that sat us in that same exact spot last week on a SATURDAY during the same time with no issues! I told her this and asked if they were not handicap accommodating and she was extremely rude to me and pointed in my face and said "No, listen to me. You listen to me." She says her manager said not to sit 2 people at that table last week...then continued to tell me the same thing she said earlier. Next I asked to speak with a manager or the owner. She went to the desk and began speaking with a young guy behind the register counter and was laughing about it to him. Then she comes and reluctantly takes us to the booth to allow us to sit there. At this point my wife was super embarrassed and started to cry once we were seated. She said she wanted to try the table with chairs because she didnt want to be an issue. This infuriated me. My wife ended up putting 2 chairs together and sitting at a regular table next to the booth we originally needed to sit in for my wife to be physically comfortable. Still crying. At this point, I went up to the guy behind the counter and asked to speak with the manager. He said he "guesses he is the manager". ? This confused me. He told me he was the "acting manager" right now. So I lay it all out to him and tell him what the hostess said about the seating and not allowing us to sit there. He says he doesn't usually work here and he doesnt know who told her that and he doesnt really know her well. I tell him I have 2 requests. 1. Someone needs to apologize to my wife because this treatment is completely unacceptable and wrong and noone should make my wife cry. 2. Someone needs to speak with that hostess and tell her that her behavior is unacceptable and wrong. He keeps telling me he doesn't know how to resolve this issue. I tell him, again, that the 2 requests will resolve it and if he does not feel comfortable doing those 2 things then he can get the "real manager or owner" out to do it. He tells me first that the owner is in the back then when i ask for him to them, he tells me the owner might be in the back. Again, confused! So, next he says that he will come by and apologize to my wife and that someone will speak with the hostess. NO ONE CAME TO APOLOGIZE! & I CAN BET NO ONE IS TALKING TO THAT HOSTESS! Despite all of this, my wife (too sweet & forgiving) still wants this to be out lunch date each week. So on our way out, I ask the guy behind the desk if he can make sure someone is aware of this issues so we don't have to go through this every single time with that same hostess. He says he can not promise that, that the hostess was saying the right thing that the booth is not supossed to sit 2 people. At this point, this all is just ridiculous so we leave. I want the actual manager or owner to speak with me. The ENTIRE time we were there... from 1130am to 140pm THAT BOOTH REMAINED EMPTY on the Thursday afternoon. THIS SHOULD NOT...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE—DISGUSTING, UNSANITARY, AND FALSELY ADVERTISED
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was, without a doubt, the worst dining experience I have ever had, and I strongly advise anyone—even if you’re starving—to avoid this establishment at all costs.
From the moment we walked in, we were met with a bizarre atmosphere where everything is labeled as if you’re in a kindergarten classroom. There are signs everywhere telling you what to do, what not to touch, and even a “ring bell for hibachi cook” sign, which made the place feel more like a daycare than a restaurant. That was just the beginning of the nightmare.
FALSE ADVERTISING
They claim to have 300 items on the buffet, which is an absolute joke. There is nowhere near that amount of food available. What little food they do have is stale, unappealing, and looks like it has been sitting out for far too long. Nothing was fresh, and the variety was pathetic compared to what was advertised.
FILTHY AND UNSANITARY CONDITIONS
This place is downright disgusting. I don’t know how they are still in business or how they’ve passed any health inspections (assuming they have). Here are just a few of the revolting things we encountered: • The overwhelming stench of wet dog – The moment we walked in, the smell hit us like a brick wall. It was so nauseating that I still feel sick even after leaving. • Mold on the air vents – Clearly visible, and the whole place smells damp and musty. • Water-damaged ceiling tiles – The tiles are wet, sagging, and look like they could fall at any moment. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s major mold growing above them. • Filthy dishes and cups – The absolute worst part: the cups and plates were still dirty, and one of our cups even had someone else’s lipstick on it. How does that even happen?! • Sticky, greasy tables and chairs – It was clear nothing had been properly cleaned.
TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY
We spent $60 for this disaster of a meal, and I wouldn’t eat here again if they paid me. I wouldn’t even let my worst enemy eat here. It was so bad that this experience alone makes me never want to step foot in Johnson City again.
FINAL WARNING: AVOID AT ALL COSTS
If you enjoy overwhelming wet dog stench, filthy conditions, false advertising, and risking food poisoning, then by all means, go. But if you value your health and your money, run far, far away...
Read morefirst time returning after almost a year as i am not frequent in that area much anymore. went with a friend. price has increased, service was good, the server made sure our drinks were refilled. now again as for the price i was skeptical, but it wasnt a problem due to i figured the food is well worth it. well, looked like much of the selection has changed. what in my view made them a great chinese buffet, was well, the chinese food. there was way more kiddie type food there than chinese in my view at the one bar. more of other types of food than what they had originally before. thats fine as i am worried more about quality and taste. welp, after selecting what i did i noticed that the quality isnt the same. nor was the taste. the roast pork was dry and tasteless almost. the teriyaki chicken was bland just about and looked more like boiled than roasted or fried. the sushi however was fantastic and cold as always which is a very very good sign. normally i get the hibachi as that is always great and what they are noted for. i didnt due to i felt myself getting, well, not enjoyable the more i eat so to speak. it seemed as if all was rushed to make to get out which i can understand but did their supplier or how they make their food change? felt like a total step down in quality of food for the raise in price. hate to say but i will now avoid this place even if i am in the area until i hear better things about it. the place was very busy which is always a good sign, but others there i can hear say the same as i. the food just didnt look or taste good. take it for what it is worth. the woman who takes your check to cash you our could have smiled more or at least say hi how was everything like they used to ask a year or so ago. while she was ringing me up she said something to me. i didnt hear her at first, 3 seconds later she just says to me you pay? i said yes i will. thats all she said. i understand things nowadays have made almost everywhere change, but with the business they are pulling in the least she can do is say hi how was everything especially after paying almost 40 dollars for 2 ppl for a...
