So I walk into this restaurant because I wanted to treat my son to some hibachi however I add something to eat. I was told that when you sit by the hibachi you have to order for two which was fine. I said to the Asian lady that refuses to give me her name that it is company policy. I proceeded to ask, can I see where it posted she told me She donāt have to have it posted I said yes you do if you have policies itās a reinforcement for customers so I would like to see it. She referred me to her manager. He told me his name was Steven. I also requested. He said itās not. Itās the rules. I said rules and policies or different rules does not have to be posted but if you have a policy it should be posted to say example if you have a dress code how would a customer know you have certain dress code you have to post it how would someone know you accept bills no greater than $50 you have to post it you cannot just say you cannot come in my restaurant we have a dress code you have to be informative with what your rules and policies are anyway, I didnāt make it a big deal. He was offering for me to sit at one of the table and there were prepare my sonās food at the back since I do not wish to eat. I then says itās not a problem. Iāll go ahead and purchase some food I can take it with me when instructed my son is allergic to eggs after waiting for hour and a half came back and said I do apologize this is what I am being told. I have to prepare your food back. I said the purpose of the hibachi. Iāve never heard of it if youāre protecting the public, Iām OK with that, but I ended up after to order something else and was not told this after waiting for all hour and a half , at this point, I told Mr. Steven I am sorry Iāve been waiting for so long and I wishes to spend my money now they have some sign that they have posted. The one that stated you have multiple hibachi in the order Iām gonna go ahead and post it now. so I am a little confused that they have all these policies posted but the one that stated I do not wish to purchase I am not in the mood of eating hibachi. Iām treating my child and I have to turn around to purchase something. Itās...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a customer at Hokkaido for 6 years but that ends tonight. Our family will no longer patronize their establishment and I encourage you to look elsewhere for Japanese food.
My husband ordered a new dish tonight. He specifically asked for a dish with steak, vegetables and rice. I told the hostess this when I placed a pick up order for this. She recommended the filet vegetable fried rice, assuring me that it had all three things he was looking for.
When we got home, it was a to-go container filled with rice. No vegetables at all. Barely any meat. And it was a $25 dish.
What sealed the deal for this being the last time we order from Hokkaido is when I called the restaurant. I figured, any reasonable restaurant owner would appreciate my loyalty for the last six years, recognize that it's insulting to charge that much for rice that probably cost $2 or less to make, and try to rectify the situation.
Instead, the owner was combative and defensive. He told us to come back to the restaurant with the dish in order to get a refund. When I explained to him that we lived 20 minutes away with two young children and that was not realistic, he told us to save the dish for tomorrow and bring it then. No apology. No professionalism. Just arrogance and rudeness. The customer is clearly not important to them and he demonstrated that with how he treated us.
The food has always been overpriced, to be honest. But this was the final straw. We will seek out other Japanese restaurants where we are respected and appreciated as customers. I encourage you to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went tonight for dinner with my daughter, I guess because it was just two of us we were not good enough to get a show. The chef only said two things one have we ever been here before and when the onion stack was supposed to be a train he said Cho. I ordered vegetables only and got same amount as my daughter that ordered chicken and steak. When I stopped the owner on my way out the door he went to go talk to the chef like I was lying about what just happen. Like I explained to the owner I go in there a lot and sit at the bar and have drinks, and food. It was very bad experience tonight and I still can not get over how the owner acted like I was lying. I even told him I have video to provide the show was not good at al and the amount of vegetables I got, I told him I will not return to his restaurant and I will be writing this review for everyone else to see and know how I was treated!!!
The waitress I had was amazing and tbh she too good to work for this man. She felt so bad for us, she offered to buy us dessert but we turned it down. Again non of this was her fault.
When you order vegetables only at all other hibachi places you get a huge bowl of different vegetables, than what everyone else gets that orders meat. I understand all places are different.
I am a customer please treat me like one. I do. It have to worry about it I will not be back.
Just wanted everyone to know how I was treated and it was very wrong what just happen. You pay so much for the food/show there but it really for the show. Which I was...
