Adria's Restaurant — Restaurant in Kanab

First off, everything we ate was good. The service was pretty lacking, especially for a Friday night. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since we came in while there was a big tourist bus eating at the buffet. We came in and nobody got us seated—we didn’t see a single staff member—for probably 6 or 7 minutes. Eventually we were seated, but we were ignored for another 10 minutes at least. The tourist group left so it was just us and another table of two in the entire restaurant. Finally our waitress came and took our orders, of which included an appetizer, and then we just waited for probably 20 or 30 minutes. Our appetizer came out about 1 minute before our actual food. The burgers were great, by the way! Heads up, the don’t have any pickles, as in they only have fried pickles, no pickle condiment. Toward the end of the meal, the owner of the restaurant came by and noticed that we probably didn’t get the best service; she felt bad and gave us a discount and even gave us a little bit of cake. I was going to give it 2 stars but she made it worth 3. Truly, if the service were better this would be a great place to go—but also $20 for a burger, yikes! Came here on a Saturday night and was sorely disappointed. Bottom line, we did not get served any food, so I can’t comment on the food quality - only the service. Was directed to the back building by an employee. The front building was reserved for a private event. Once there, no host came to seat us even after waiting a while. It was quite busy. We sat ourselves at a table in the hopes that a server would come by - waited for ten minutes, it never happened. Only saw one server and she just looked at us confused, as if wondering why we were there (I will mention at this point that we are people of color - perhaps that was a factor, but I can’t say definitely). There were several other parties around us that were there before we arrived, and they, too, did not have menus, utensils, or food at their tables. We took that as a sign that we definitely wouldn’t get served in the next hour, so we left. Looking at the other reviews regarding the price and quality of food, as well as the quality of customer service, we are glad we did. Seems like the trend of poor service has been going on for years. September 5 2024 - our last night in Kanab. Adria's would be the third restaurant where we had dinner. Honestly, it would be easy for someone used to upscale standards to rate this place with 2 stars. When we arrived at the restaurant, we had to figure out how to get inside. You don't enter at the front, as we found the entrance at the back. It seems they are in the process of changing to a different type of restaurant. I heard the bar manager explain several times about what they were trying to do.

When we arrived there were only a couple of tables with customers and we were told to sit anywhere. I was a bit concerned about how the evening would go. But the staff seemed to be working hard and the place got much busier as the evening went on. We actually enjoyed the atmosphere and my wife's chicken sandwich and my Western Burger were pretty good. No complaints about the beer and wine.

So, yea, we would eat at Adria's if we visit Kanab again. I wish them good luck in creating the restaurant folks enjoy. The location is not on the main St. (Center St. , I think.) But it is just a short walk from there. It was a nice walk...
