⚠️ Warning We checked into Aikens Lodge on 25/09/2025 and were greeted not by staff but by a notice on the door stating the reception was shut due to staffing shortages. Guests were told to go to the Best Western Red Hills a short walk away. Because of this, the pool was inaccessible, and breakfast for both properties was crammed into a single undersized dining area. None of these major changes were communicated to us beforehand, even though our booking included these facilities at Alkene Lodge.
The room we were given was in very poor condition: thick dust, a shower covered in limescale, and a filthy, extremely noisy air-conditioning unit.
On the following day, we requested either to be moved to Best Western or to receive a refund. Only after pressing firmly did we manage to secure a refund for the unused nights.
Overall, an extremely disappointing stay. Lodge on 25/09/2025 and were greeted not by staff but by a notice on the door stating the reception was shut due to staffing shortages. Read moreIts in kanab at 79 street , Very nice lodge at affordable prices. I found this place suitable to stay as I planned to visit nearby places like Zion national park ( 30 to 40 mins) and Page (dam, upper and lower canyon , horse shoe, arch canyon , marina and lake powel) . Page if I recall ~80 miles little away from here.
The prices for queen bedroom was ~94 for peak season like Easter. They had free WiFi, breakfast, small fridge in room with TV and 2 beds. Housekeeping was good.
We stayed for 3 nights and checked out on 4th day to return back to Irvine. It was a pleasant stay. Individual free spacious parking for cars and RAM or similar trucks.
There are restaurants at walking and adjacent to it if u plan to eat outside. I had grilled trout with wild grain and little chicken with local brewed bear. My spouse and 5 yr kid had coconut curry with rice , and italian soup. We did the full meal course at night and ended up with ~80$ with tip.
They only had one microwave at front desk office, so if u hv infants and need warm water for milk it could be little time consuming as u may expect queue during morning
Office closes at 10.00pm , so if u can't check-in by 10.00pm ,better call them ahead and let ur arrival time.
I had very yummy soft croissants and cinnamon bread in their morning breakfast.
All and all I...
Read moreThis is a cute, quaint and cozy motel which is a great cost-effective option while exploring the surrounding areas. It’s centrally located within walking distance of the main area of the town in several restaurants. When checking in I saw something on the counter along the lines of “refurbishing” which led me to believe that the family who owns the hotel is taking old motel and giving it a second life. And they’re doing a great job! You can feel the love and care that has gone into sprucing it up. There are several cute touches to elevate it from just another roadside motel - from the color scheme of the furniture and paintings, to the wonderful smelling soap, to the retro appliances used during the continental breakfast that give it charm. I’ve stayed in several other similarly priced motels in this town the day before or after a backpacking trip and the others we’re so gross that I didn’t even want to walk around barefoot in the room due to the dirty and stained carpets. But here the carpets appear to be new (or at minimum clean) and I really appreciate the care that this family has put into this motel. I will definitely...
