If I could leave negative stars I would, let me explain.
My sister and brother-in-law hired Cupiniโs to cater food for their 20th wedding anniversary vow renewal for the evening of Saturday Aug 23. Unfortunately my sister died unexpectantly on July 20. A few days after my sister died I spoke with Eddie, the owner of Cupiniโs, and told him we wanted to cancel their catering order. Eddie told me that they donโt offer refunds, to which I responded โwhat does the contract sayโ. His only reply was โwe donโt give refundsโ. This interaction went on for a couple minutes with me asking about the contract and Eddie saying only that they donโt give refunds. After conferring with my brother-in-law again, a lawyer who actually read the contract, he pointed out that the contract allows cancellation for any reason by either party and if the customer cancels they lose their deposit. Missouri law is evidently, according to my lawyer brother-in-law, crystal clear on the law here and said that we would easily win in court to get his money back but my brother-in-law was in no mood to take them to court days after his wife died.
I informed Eddie of the situation of my sisters unexpected death and said that we were asking for grace to help out our family and specifically my brother-in-law since he was out over $2500 in caterers fees. He was obviously not willing to do anything but lie to me so we were unable to cancel. He obviously cares more about the bottom line than providing humanely decent customer service to his customers, even those who are grieving. The only concession he made was that he changed the menu to provide finger food for the vow renewal event that had been turned in to a celebration of life for my sister. So we had a lot of food at her celebration of life but nobody who came was there for the food but to remember and grieve my sister. As a side note the food was good for what it was but it was way heavy on bread, probably 60%, that seems like a lot of bread for $2500.
Unfortunately Eddie has no shame or basic level of humanity. I hope and pray that Eddie is never treated the way he treated us during this incredibly...
ย ย ย Read moreOkay, first time trying this place! I was super excited to go, and it was recommended by a friend! My friends and I agreed to meet up here on Saturday evening. Thanks to a miscommunication, we ended up coming at 8:30 instead of 7:30. They close at 9, but with us being restaurant people, we planned ahead, decided what we wanted so we could order quickly! My boyfriend, best friend and I made it ahead of our party, ordered, and sat down with our table tent, ready to go. Our food came quickly and was very appetizing, and our other friends hadnโt arrived yetโฆ they came within ten minutes and were told they would have to order takeout. Keep in mind this place still had 20 minutes until they closed. We had been waiting for our friends to arrive to eat our food, and instead they are standing at the order counter waiting on togo containers. Talk about a let down! So here we are, half of our group eating from plates, the other half from togo containers. We were there for the same amount of time as we would have been, and some others were in there for longer than we wereโฆ Just left a bad taste in our mouth from the service part. Again, we are restaurant people, so we get it, we should have been there earlier. But still, we felt rushed and we didnโt get to enjoy ourselves as a group without stares and glares from the staff. I didnโt want to speak to a manager at the time, but I figured I would just put something up hereโฆ Not sure if I would give this place a...
ย ย ย Read moreThis place was so bad, Iโm at a loss for words. It was absolutely disgusting!
Out of the four meals I ordered not one thing was edible.
I ordered penne pasta with their vodka sauce and chicken. The sauce tasted like canned tomato sauce with no flavor whatsoever. There was no cream in it, which is what a vodka sauce should have.
The meatball sub was bland, with only bread, meatballs, and a spoonful of their inedible red marinara sauce. I couldnโt even bring myself to finish the bite. The photos in their reviews showed cheese on top, but there wasnโt any.
The margarita pizza was uncooked, with a raw bottom. The only thing that had any potential was the crust, but it was raw.
The turkey cold sub was equally disappointing. It had no flavor, and the only edible part was the bread. To top it off, they charge $3 for a $.25 bag of Lays chips. I thought Iโd at least get a real bag of chips.
I love supporting local family-run businesses, but this isnโt one of them. The food was absolutely terrible, and I wouldnโt recommend it to anyone. I did order twice in one week thinking maybe they had an off day the first time. I wanted to give them a second chance since their reviews were so good. Unfortunately, all four meals I ordered went directly into the trash.
On the plus side, the food did arrive hot, but I do live only a few minutes away. Itโs a shame all this food was...
