Hands down my favorite coffee shop in KC. I have tried just about everything on the menu (food and drinks) and I can confirm you need to try it all! This establishment was super welcoming during my time in KC and hands down the best baristas in town. Special shoutout to Charlie and Quincy for making me feel like family and creating such a welcoming and safe atmosphere for all of their customers - they truly are fantastic humans and baristas and I highly recommend stopping by and meeting them! One of my favorite things about Goat Hill is they make their own syrups and the baristas have creative liberties to the seasonal menus which is so cool to see their personalities and preferences coming through in the drinks. I also highly recommend their homemade burritos with the spicy jam... It's AMAZING. As others have posted the shop is on the smaller side and they only have bar seating on the interior, however I find this to be unique and definitely fits in with the vibe of the shop and the neighborhood. They also just opened more outdoor seating which is a welcome sight for all you outside coffee drinkers out there! Price-wise, for the quality and comparing it to other SIMILAR shops in the area I say it is pretty in-line. I currently live in a bigger city now and comparing a price of a drink at Goat Hill to here... I can definitely say you're getting better quality...
Read moreThis turned out to be a wonderful find. Small shop that had two excellent baristas that were all about intention and producing the best product that they can. Ordered a flat white and it was made as well as it could be. The espresso on grind for the day made for a more balanced flat white than I tend to prefer, but the steaming and temperature did yield a great micro-foam and temperature. The shop itself is small and the aesthetic just works for the location. No frills, everything is just super functional and simple. The location also has some baked goods that I didn’t try during my visit but will be sure to my next stop. The pop tarts looked excellent. The attention to detail and the fact that both of the baristas were knowledgable and passionate about their craft in a non-pretentious manner made it an even better experience. This is actually the first shop I have found in KC that is the exact vibe I look for....
Read moreI can’t believe I am writing a negative review for a place that I once held so dearly. Goat hill was such a safe space in the westside community. I have spent countless hours over the past year in the shop. From the second that new management stepped in, it was clear that the character of goat hill was going out the door through physical shop changes and several internal changes that negatively impacted employees’ income. Employees were “let go” with very little notice/over text but management made room for someone with no coffee experience while others have been ousted by management. I am not going to continue supporting a shop who doesn’t value their employees. The list could go on and on, but TLDR: There’s much better places in town. Don’t...
