First and foremost, I LOVE the pizza. It's a little pricy, but it's completely worth it. The cheese is amazing. The quality of the food aside, these people have no idea how to deal with customers. I can't believe they've been in business this long with the way they actually run the business...they obviously get by on the quality of their food alone. Every time I would go in (which was about once a month, as I live nearby), I am treated lukewarm at best, as if I'm doing them a disservice by ordering their food. I always go in friendly, hoping that this time will be better, but it never changes. The last time I went in - about 3 months ago, as I haven't been able to bring myself to order from them since - was the worst. I went up to the counter, and 100% paid for my pizza: swiped my card, signed the receipt, put my card away, all I needed is for them to hand me the box of pizza. Then, me being the chatty Cathy I am, said, "Hmm, that actually seemed cheaper than I thought it would be" ($12 for a large cheese pizza, which should ring up around $18ish). So the 15-year-old working the register told me that it was correct, large cheese, $12. Even though I clearly see it is higher on the menu right in front of us...but I've already paid, so I keep quiet; maybe they had a special or something that I didn't know about. Then the manager, who overheard and who looked to be about 18 years old, looks at my ticket and proceeds to tell the 15-year-old cashier that she cannot do math (in front of myself and the other customers - completely unprofessional, belittling, and just plain rude), and that she needs to refund the ticket for $12 and recharge me the correct amount ($18.50ish). Ummm...I already paid, signed, and packed up. I've never in my life heard of making a customer re-pay, for a HIGHER amount. What??? But because I had my bf waiting in the car, and was absolutely starving and not looking for a fight, I let it happen...plus, she probably wouldn't have given me my pizza at all, if I didn't agree. I would have had a full-blown pizza hostage situation. But I seriously wish I had not given in. Leo's: You should never, NEVER re-charge a customer for a higher amount, for a mistake that you made. You let it go, take the loss, and fix the issue so that it doesn't happen again. I would have been happy to pay the correct amount in the beginning, but you do not make a customer give you their card again so that you can reimburse them, then recharge for a higher amount. That is absurd. I honestly don't know if I can go back after being burned so many times. I work right next to an Imo's, so I can just get my...

Read moreIt's a small place, maybe about 15 feet wide and about 40 feet deep, with stackable chairs in both Fabric and plastic, in a style I haven't seen for several decades. It's a pizza joint that I probably have driven by countless times in the 35 years I've lived in this town. And tonight, I finally went in and gave it a try and I'm really glad that I did!
I have heard so many people talk about this place. I guess what makes it so different is that it uses provel cheese instead of mozzarella. So, I walk up to the sign that says place your order here, and I placed my order for a meat pizza and a cold beer.
Now they say you always eat with your eyes before your stomach, and when they set that pie in front of my eyes, my taste buds started doing the happy dance, and The Voices in my head started screaming, "what are you waiting for, eat it!" "Not until it cools," was my reply.
They start with a nice thin crust that comes out crispy and crunchy and absolutely delicious! They put on a nice tangy sauce and cover it with Italian sausage, hamburger, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, and bacon! Then they cover that with about a pound of provel cheese. It's definitely a unique and delicious take on the pizza pie. This is definitely one of the richest and creamiest pies I have ever eaten!
Nirvana!
Well Done Leo's Pizza!
