Let me start this review by saying the service we received was 5 Star! However, I was not impressed by the food. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 45 minute wait. We told the young lady at the door that we were going to go to Walmart. She stated she could hold the table for 10 minutes after we were paged, no big deal. We got our text, then about 5 minutes later we received a phone call from the same lady, asking if we were able to make the 10 minute window. We advised her where we were at and that we were heading back to the restaurant. All was good. When we got back to the restaurant, we were greeted by the same hostess. She engaged us by asking how our trip to Walmart was and some other small talk. I wish more restaurants had front end associates that were as personal and engaging with their customers, you nailed this. Now, on to the meal. After we were seated, our waitress appeared and took our drink order, appetizer order and our meal order. Yup, we are creatures of habit and like to get certain items when we go out. The drinks arrived promptly, as did the bread. My only comment about the bread is that I wish they would have cut it before bringing it out. The waitress was busy. There was a tour bus in the parking lot and she looked like she definitely had her hands full. However, thru the whole meal, she was timely with our appetizers and drink refills and gave a good amount of time between the appetizers and the main meal. I was very impressed with the service I received, I only wish the food had been better. The appetizers were o.k., nothing to write home about honestly. When I received my rib-eye steak, it looked good. When I cut into the steak, it was done like I had ordered it. However, When I ate the steak, it tasted like there was WAY to much salt! I was not impressed by this. The Asparagus that I had ordered was the same way, way too much salt. Overall, I found the flavor of both to be lacking what I would expect for an almost $30 piece of meat. Normally, when my wife orders ribs, they are great. But, not here. The flavor was good, but the meat was tough and hard to get off the bone. Normally, when she orders ribs, the meat just falls off the bone. She stated the flavor was nothing to write home about. Neither of us finished our meals that day. We asked the waitress for to-go boxes. I was surprised how small the boxes were. I don't fault the server, they can only give me what they are provided. I would have rather had a larger box than stuffing everything into a small one for later. Overall, the service was great, the food not so much. That is the reason for...
Read moreMixed review. We haven't been to Longhorn for several years but used to be regulars. I think they are understaffed and quality has declined. MANY tables were open and the "10 minute" wait was more than 30. It took a while for our server to check in (she seemed rather timid but was nice), and a long time to even get water. We ordered everything at once to save some time; our server repeated back orders to be sure they were correct. The Caesar salad had a lot of the inedible stalk and some of the green was actually dry/brown. The Wild West Shrimp is like no other- the newbie in our group enjoyed it as much as we do. Some of the appetizer and salad plates were removed before the entrée came, some not, which crowded the table. It again took inordinately long to get our entrees. Our server brought two and some other woman had the others and brusquely leaned across me, then dropped and slid them across the table. Our Renegade steaks were cooked perfectly and we liked the seasoning. The hamburger was well done instead of medium; so-so flavor. Mashed potatoes were creamy but rather tasteless. Fries were average; broccoli was very soft but okay. We didn't expect fast food, but for the price we expect better service and quality.
Update 9/2023 Upgraded to 4 stars. BEST: Corey, our server, was pleasant and efficient. Our food was good, cooked to order (and the mashed potatoes were buttery and delicious this time!). OUR FAULT: we didn't read about the corn and were surprised the ears were smothered in a cream sauce and cheese. Didn't care for it although the corn itself was good. WORST: The chicken salad was the size of a side salad and, sadly, had 0 chicken (he did not mention it to Corey), and the 3 Don margarita tasted like water on the rocks - no tequila or...
Read moreFood was excellent. Man did we draw the short end of the stick on servers. Saturday before Easter might not be the best time to train a new server. Once we sat down we were unattended for about 15 minutes. The server came over saying they were overwhelmed and would be with us, while they were fumbling tips. It's still Covid protocol so there wasn't hardly anyone actually seated and eating. So not sure what the issue was. While we were still waiting for drinks and bread 2 other families sat down and were instantly greeted and brought drinks all before our drinks showed up. I mentioned to the hostess what the problem was. More time went by and I was getting up to leave when the server finally showed up with waters. What was astonishing was after we ordered and had our drinks the manager came over to the table next to us and apologized for the long wait. 🧐 our table was a bit shocked at that. The manager continued to check on every table around us handling issues, except us. On his next pass he checked on the 2 tables behind us that got seated after we did, skipped our table and hit the table in front of us. At this point I was over the moon annoyed. We even made eye contact on his way by that time. Finally our food comes out and the food runner had absolutely no idea where any of the food went, but we got past that too. About mid meal the manager stops, I didn't even really have words. I said it was fine and of course he went and asks the server what was going on. He told on himself I guess.
Food was great, this time service was definitely off, yes I still tipped 22% because the server needs to learn, but he also needs to eat and pay his bills. We were compensated for an appetizer, which was more...
