Mildred's Food + Drink — Restaurant in Kansas City

I love Mildred’s in downtown KC, and I think this new location is a great addition to the Plaza/Brookside area. Mildred’s coffee shop offers a straightforward menu with a nice array of sandwiches, salads, and soups. I can see myself both enjoying brunch with friends or working alone on my laptop. This location is spacious, and I love the natural light!

As a note, I noticed somebody else left a one star review about Mildred’s opening day - this goes to show how experiences are not universal. I was also there on opening day, and my whole table had a great time! Sure, it was busy and wait times were longer. But these things sometimes happen, especially on opening days. (Also ONE star bad? I love going to the Mildred’s crossroads location and have been so excited for the south Plaza location to open so close to my neighborhood. I went on opening day with my family and everyone was so kind and I very much enjoyed my chipotle breakfast burrito and latte, per usual. I took my first bite of the vegetarian wrap and literally said “holy s*” to the dude in the car beside me. I added cheese, guac and extra sauce to mine because most vegetarian/vegan breakfast burritos are bland and need the help. This didn’t need the extra fixin AT ALL. Beautifully seasoned scramble!

The turmeric in the tofu scramble goes PERFECTLY with the chipotle aoli.
