I'm really glad we found this authentic Italian restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and we will be back. I only have two little complaints so I'll hit those first: I wish that the ceilings were lower so that they would mute some of the sound and make the restaurant seem homier. I miss cozy, warm restaurants where there isn't a lot of racket. I could hear great, soft music playing every once in awhile, but with the restaurant being so open the music was lost to the clatter of silverware and plates and chairs scooting. My other complaint is that it took a long time to get our drinks. I could see the bartender making them, then the glasses sitting there, then a lot of people standing around looking at them, or moving them, and eventually we did receive them. It was just a little bit odd. I love to spend time at a restaurant, but I like that to be my decision and not because I'm waiting for something. Now to the most important aspect of the review: the food. We didn't skimp on our ordering! We got the bread, which was inexpensive and incredibly delicious and was served with oil and balsamic vinegar. Next, we had the meatball appetizer which was amazing. It was huge and was just the right texture. I've had meatballs that were so ground up that it felt like I was eating a ball of wet cat food, but this was meaty and chunky and had a big glob of melted cheese inside of it. Utterly wonderful. I also ordered the shrimp and lobster arancini. I have no complaints about it; it was very yummy, but the meatball did blow it out of the water. For our main courses we ordered the penne a la vodka and the macaroni. The penne was really wonderful, although I think it would have been nice to have had the opportunity for fresh parmesan at the table. I'm not sure why I ordered the macaroni; I think I just wanted to try something different. It had a strong taste of Italian sausage, and was served in a watery broth type topping rather than a sauce. Honestly, I'm sure it's very delicious to the right person, but I probably should have stuck with one of my favorites. I'm not sure why I always feel like I need to try something different, lol. It too could probably have benefited from an extra topping of fresh Parmesan. Interestingly, it got better as time went on and the sauce thickened up a little bit. Towards the end of dinner we saw a neighboring table getting fettuccine Alfredo out of the center of a giant wheel of Parmesan and that's absolutely what I should have ordered! However, I can't find that on the menu even now, knowing that I definitely saw somebody getting it. We finished up our dinner with some of the most marvelous desserts we have ever eaten, the mille foglie and strawberries cassata Siciliana. We critiqued them like we were judging the Great British Baking Show and found zero fault. Hand shakes all around. I very much look forward to visiting Little Italy restaurant again and trying that amazing wheel of cheese dish!

Please excuse the long post but last night Hubby and I had a very deserved date night and we wanted to try a new place ( it has only been open for 8 months).. well he found a nice little place called Little Italy off of I10 close to Main event. From the outside it looked like a regular small restaurant. Yet from the inside it was like being in little Italy.. nice small tables but room enough for big groups and simple but elegant decorations. Our waitress Lianet welcomed us in and sat us down. The menu wasn't over done and had great options. We started off with the frito misto and it was delicious. Jumbo shrimp, octopus and calamari.. the calamari basically melted in your mouth. It came with spicy marinara and polenta, which was my first time eating polenta and I fell in love. My husband then had the Lasagna and I had the Caccio de pepe.. which came in the cheese wheel.. and served table side. I asked for mine with shrimp and OMG. 5 jumbo shrimp, it was so creamy and delicious I forgot to take a picture before it was all gone. I had a Moscato wine that Lianet recommended and was also divine. The ambiance was amazing and never had to ask for a refill, cause they were on top of it. They have a gorgeous bar with a nice list of wines and mixed drinks and beers. The dessert menu was also great. We ate something called the magliofele ( I know I probably butchering the name) but its a puff pastry made with a vanilla cream and cooked strawberries. Let me tell you it was gone in seconds so no picture, but it was super light and delicious. A perfect ending to our meal. We hadn't even left and were already planning on what to eat . Our next trip there.. when we left it felt like the whole crew said goodbye to us which made us feel like we were part of the family. We will definitely be back again and look for Lianet to serve us.. we had an amazing time and all the recommendations from Lianet were top notch. Please give them a try. They are new and a really great place. It's not ultra fancy so great for kids ( they have pizzas) and families. Enjoy!!! You will not be disappointed!!

We went to the Little Italy in Katy by Main event. Wow! The ingredients were obvious high quality and fresh. The taste on each dish made me crave more. When you comem ask for Andy, an amazing and attentive server! First the 🥗: most salads are pretty basic with little to excite you and I didn’t expect much from a simple salad but wanted something fresh. Instead of something to basic I received a simple salad with fresh ingredients that tasted so good. The tomatoes tasted like they were good quality and not the normal store bought. The lemon vinaigrette was beautifully acidic and really allowed the brightness of the salad to shine with the baby arugula. Next we split the hot honey 🍕. Pizza is normally pretty standard but both the ingredients on this pizza with prosciutto and hot 🍯 gave it a unique and the crust which was nice and airy giving a wonderful touch to a delightful pizza. Lastly we had desert which was cherries jubilee. This had dark cherries with their gelato and some pastry dough, the cherries are flambéed in brandy which gove you that nice warmth against the cool of the gelato and the then there is the creaminess that the gelato imparts. I cannot wait to come and try some of the other dishes that we saw while here.
