Yummy Seafood & Oyster Bar — Restaurant in Katy

This place was subpar......I went for my birthday (I don’t even know why I tried this....) we got there around 7pm and the place was jammed packed (no corona virus protocols at all) they said the bar might be social distancing for couples of 2 but that was a joke in my opinion. Since no seating was left or separated in that restaurant. So that’s a lie......about the bar situation. We literally waited 30-40 mins it felt like outside no chairs to accommodate customers waiting, nothing.....I wanted to leave because of the wait and wasn’t sure about the service, since it was my fist time visiting here. My family just said let’s wait because they wanted crawfish so bad that the reviews were great. Well we stick it out and wait my family had to check back inside for tables to fit us about 7-8 of us. Well it looked like no one was leaving anytime soon. So we waited and finally we agreed to sit in a corner table since other people with smaller groups and sets of 2 were passing us by waiting less. The system was irritating. We finally sit all cramped up and since it was my birthday I wanted a glass of wine or like a mimosa, and the waiter didn’t even know if they had any available and asked and they said no they didn’t .....womp womp....(WHAT DO THEY HAVE) I ordered a soda water instead (tons of ice filled to the top we had multiple refills).We ordered a couple appetizers and I asked if they had any oyster nachos and the guy said no they were out lol (by this point it gets real comical) then after he gets back from the appetizer order, he asks about our main order and they ask how much is the he crawfish 1 Lb and he was like ohhhh we don’t have any right now, “it’s an hour wait, for the next new batch”.....Major LETDOWN because 3-4 of my family members went there JUST FOR THAT. How sad, so they had to opt out and order something else, which was highly disappointing (we should’ve just got up and left)....SMH. I ordered boiled 1/2 lb shrimp and snow crab boiled the sauce was over everything, I didn’t like that and the prices are kind of silly for the rest of the mediocre food quality. I had to ask for lemon sauce with garlic butter on the side and wasn’t even offered a utensil to crack my crab legs, I had to ask a different waiter Smh. Our waiter didn’t know much I’m not sure if he was new? he seemed confused but was good about refilling out drinks.....other staff working there helped periodically but it wasn’t Fantastic food or service. We were unhappy with the wing Orders, and dry burgers, the calamari was over fried and hard not fresh. My nephew didn’t even eat his corn dogs or fries he wanted to go home immediately. My mom wasn’t too pleased with everything fried on her seafood shrimp and scallops dinner she wanted options but none was given. Just heard my family complaining that night made my birthday feel lackluster and depressing because of this place I chose to randomly enjoy seafood or at least crawfish at. The only thing good we’re the omg fries in my opinion and the boudin balls appetizers.....the dinner and other food items needs work. And when I asked the waiter for a wet cloth cleansing nap to clean my hands with sauce all he gave me was a Clorox wipe.....Yikes! I don’t honestly think we will be going back here again let alone myself since it was not a great night from the long wait outside to the food being unavailable or...

Crawfish Crawl - February 2019 Me and my sister were on a quest to find the best crawfish on the west side of Houston / Katy Yummy Crawfish and Seafood was our third stop in a five restaurant contest. Flavor - spicy cajun garlic - the flavor was excellent. They use a house made blend of Cajun spices and all the traditional flavors were evident in the taste. Spice level - we ordered the highest level and it was perfect. Not salty at all with the perfect amount of heat. The seasoning is not sprinkled on the outside of the crawfish, they are boiled in seasoned water. Size - medium. This early in the season we expected them to be small and medium but they were all medium with a few large ones. We were told Friday they had large and extra large but Saturday night they were medium. Presentation - the crawfish were brought out steaming hot in a plastic bag and a clean stainless bucket was already on the table with a roll of paper towels. They also provided plates and gloves. This is the only location were gloves were provided. Service - The service was excellent. We were greeted and seated immediately. A male and female employee (sorry I didn't get either name) were very attentive but didn't hover. Ambiance - very nice - with a diverse customer base - very clean with nice clean restrooms. TV's were tuned in to the Rockets game. Price - $8.99 a pound - Market rate Cleanliness - The crawfish were super clean, there was no dirt or grit. Overall the experience at Yummy Crawfish & Seafood was excellent. This was the first location of the three where we were able to order beer. We had bud lite and the beer was ice cold and lime wedges were provided upon request. We did not order corn, potatoes or sausage at this location but they were available as well as mushrooms. I highly recommend Yummy Crawfish & Seafood but sadly we gave them second place in the Crawfish Crawl. I will definitely return in the very near future and plan to order crabs on...

Walked inside with my daughter, was not greeted, and we were ok, all good. However, we sat down at a table that was not clean and we knew it had to be cleaned. Not an issue at all. The lady came to clean and she sprayed me 3 times. I told her she was spraying me and she continued to spray and acted as if she could not hear me. I asked her could she hear me and she did not even look at me. However, a family walked in after us and she greeted them “in English” and asked them to sit where they please. I asked for a manager, and another lady named “Christian” stated that the manager was not present and she’s in charge. She claimed that the other lady did not speak good english; however, we heard her speak clear English to another family. I cannot believe this happens, there’s a card that can be played, I’ll leave the demographics out of this review. We will NEVER come here again and we will make sure others are aware.

I served this country 21 years as an Active duty service member and I am a volunteer coach in the Katy area. This was sad!

Update Had an unpleasant phone conversation with a manager. I called and expressed the situation. She defended the worker by stating that she does not speak English and was trained to only greet and seat individuals. She did not apologize or provide a plan of action, and her tone was very disrespectful. I have two adult witnesses. I’ve filed a complaint with the Harris Co. Sheriff and am currently in the waiting room of the urgent care. My eyes are burning and teary. My daughter was sprayed as well, but she did not tell me until we left because she thought that would upset...
