I used to absolutely LOVE this place. It’s been my favorite spot on the island for years. I was really shocked and disappointed, today, coming here and being shamed for not taking my “health issue” of being severely/anaphylactic allergic to walnuts and other nuts, “seriously”. The granola has a myriad of nuts in it - last time that I came here - I did not realize it and caught it before I ate the bowl and they made me a new one with no issue and were incredibly kind about it… today, I didn’t even think to read the sign because I was so excited and forgot to ask about the nuts. When I got my bowl and noticed the walnuts on top- I asked the employee about a new bowl - he told me to “scrape it off” and they can’t make a new bowl with all new ingredients without me paying for it, again. I talked with the manager of the place and then the owner of the store - this was the most disappointing part - to have the owner shame me and tell me - we have a small sign that says it has nuts in the granola (it doesn’t list the nuts at all) and that I need to be better at telling people about my “health issue”. It was incredibly rude. I asked for a refund and she actually gave that to me - but refused to make a new one and said that it’s my fault for not being able to read signs or ask about the nut policy. I was really bummed because I have never had the workers be so rude here and the owner to be even more rude. I used to recommend this place to every single person. I won’t be doing that anymore because of poor treatment. Also, my sisters found PLASTIC in their acai bowls! I’m sure they wouldn’t make a new one for them either…. Pictures of the plastic below…

got the DA dragon large acai bowl and it had all of the granolas and crunchies and dragon fruit and toppings and was a delight in every bite. very surprising as never had a acai bowl with this. much surprise in every crunch. definitely Hawaiian take and very fresh. even the sour is sweet very fresh edit: came back again and had the sau Sai which had all the surprising granola crunches along with the chocolate chip that I added and it was still hands down the best acai bowl and will come back for another flavor again while I'm here edit: came here third time, got the hulk w choco chips definitely a healthier bowl and it has the greens in it but still love the combination and the surprises in each bite. Will probably come back for the dragon tomorrow with Mac, nuts and cacao nibs edit: yeah confirmed. da dragon is the best, And ideally with Mac, nuts and chocolate chips. has the most crunchies in its velvety fruity concoction. they'll come back when I'm back on the island later

Service is a 2/5. The açaí on the other hand is the best I’ve ever had. I would give it a 6/5. It is so good that we went back here 3 different times. The service received each time was mediocre and not the most friendly. During my last visit I was again treated with the same neutral/mediocre attitude. This time I wanted to try something new and the Hulk looked very tasty. However, when I mentioned that I wanted a large Hulk her attitude went from neutral to rude. She was visibly upset that I ordered that. I was taken aback by this sudden change and began to feel guilty that I even ordered this. I quickly realized that this bowl requires more work than the workers would like to put into it. At the end of the day though if you work there and it’s on the menu I don’t think you should be upset if people order it. Again, the açaí is incredible and I will keep coming back for it. However, don’t expect exceptional service that is standard at most restaurants.
