Get Baked — Restaurant in Kearney

I was looking for fresh baked bread initially, and stumbled upon Get Baked. No bread (yet), but I decided to try a few of their other offerings. I ordered the plain cheesecake, a double chocolate cookie, and the corn bread. The cheesecake is excellent. Fantastic texture, slightly more moist than a NY cheesecake, still firm, and absolutely delicious. The double chocolate cookie was frosted with a real chocolate buttercream. Sweet but not overly sweet, and loaded with chocolate flavor. Also excellent. Last, the corn bread. I warmed it up and slathered it with butter. I thought it was fantastic. Moist, sweet, but not overly sweet. I can’t wait to try it again with chili when the weather turns cold.

If you have a sweet tooth, especially for cookies and cheesecake, Get Baked is a must try. If you like cornbread, same.

I wish I would have taken pictures of the shop and the food because it needs to be shown! I stopped in here for a sweet treat after someone at the hotel I was staying at recommended it. I got a monster cookie, lemon cookie and a slice of original cheesecake. Everything kinda blew my mind! The lemon cookie was soft and had a perfect lemon flavor. The monster cookie had bigger oats in them which added a lovely chewiness. And the cheesecake was the stuff of dreams. Perfect amount of crust and wasn’t too sweet. Seriously some of the best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten. And if the original was that good I can only imagine how good the flavored ones are. The shop itself is clean and nicely decorated and has lots of seating including some comfy bench seats. The owner was so also very nice and easy to talk to. I will be back next time...
