Overall the experience was good. This would have been 5 stars but I encountered 2 issues I felt were important to me.

We chose to do do the hibachi. We also ordered sushi with it. The hibachi food was a bit mediocre relying on salt to flavor...which made the rice too salty to eat. We ordered 3 kinds of steak (sukyaki, samurai and a ribeye but they messed up one order and my buddy didn't get sukyaki and got samurai steak instead), also chicken and shrimp.

The chef was off to a great start. He entertained the other family at the table more as they had kids...which we were totally ok with. Then he made a racial comment about Japanese poeple I found offensive. As such he received half of the tip he would have normally gotten. Which in my opinion half was still generous.

The sushi was excellent. In fact I ordered more to go. I def recommend the sushi.

The service was a bit lacking. In an experience lasting over an hour the server refilled once and was Mia the rest of the time.

The bad:

The server was always gone and forgot things regularly.

The chef made a joke referencing that Japanese people eat cats. As an Asian American this really irks me. It's one of my very few triggers that set me off. The joke: what sound does a Japanese chicken make? Meow.

Expensive for the price of the hibachi and tips for the chef and server. I do not know how they work tips here but I wasn't about to tip the chef 20% and then turn around and tip the server 20% when the chef did...

I have visited this establishment several times since it's opening. Never had a complaint until recently. We were there with a large group eating on the habachi side of the restaurant. We had prompt service from our waiter and had ordered and were enjoying our soup when I look down and in my spoon was a rather large fly floating in it. I had already eaten half that bowl of soup, mind you. We gave it to the women who seated us. She brought us a new bowl of soup, which was not touched for obvious reasons. The rest of our meal was flawless! The chief did a great job! Food tasted great! We ask for our ticket. Expecting some form of a discount considering the circumstances. $2.40 was what was taken off of a $207 ticket. When we asked to speak with the manager, she said," I already took off the soup and that was enough. She said if I had eaten any of the rest of my meal then she would not discount that." By this point she was furious in her tone. She ultimately took a total of $10 off of our bill. I work first hand in the customer service management field, and I was floored by how this women handled the situation. In my entire life I have not been treated, so horribly as a customer until that day. I will most definitely not be returning to this establishment. Which is sad. Everything else besides their customer...

The Hibachi Experience!

TL:DR If you are looking for a bit extra for your evening meal, this is an excellent choice. Excellent food and great inclusive entertainment at the Hibachi area!

Details: We ended up here on a week night about an hour before closing time. The crew was very polite from beginning to end, and we only had to wait a minute or two to be seated in the Hibachi area.

We had a wide variety of orders for the chef - from chicken to shrimp to steak, and a few appetizers as well. (Crab Rangoon was pretty good!)

Our chef was excellent, very good at his job of cooking, but also hilarious and very interactive with all of us at the table.

The fried rice and vegetables were the best I have had at a Hibachi place - I think it may be because of the fresh garlic they added in while cooking! Shrimp was excellent, and everyone else commented on how delicious everything was.

Note that this is an expensive dinner - $25 or so for a meal - but it includes the salad, soup, rice, veggies, meat choice, and a couple of shrimp! Everyone has leftovers at the end, so plan on two meals from that price.

Come during the week for lunch specials if you are looking to save some money and still get...

Overall experience for this is average, Something is off with the vibe, I’ve been to many habatchi steakhouses, and sushi bars, this really doesn’t hit the mark when you think Japanese. Benihana’s is the most famous for this. overall food wise it’s a 3.5 not impressive but not bad either. It’s good for Kearney. Since it is a little city and many people don’t have to much experience to things like this especially if you are from Nebraska. If you are from a big city and you come here, you will not be impressed. But if you are a small town person you will think this place is amazing. I don’t mind it. Will I come back here more often? No, just because I know there are better places. Price wise it is very expensive for the quality of food you get. Like I said it’s not bad but not impressive. The cleanliness is great and I guess I wish the place wasn’t that dark, it really gives you a depressive feeling. Just another place to eat.

Went there last night for a date night, had a bit of a wait to get in, which is very reasonable on a Saturday. Our waiter greeted us right away, very friendly I may add! Sat down ordered drinks and apps, went outside the normal well for atleast one got the crab Rangoon, and fried clams. We couldn't do the clams, nothing wrong just never developed a taste for them. She had a steak bento box, with the first sushi she's liked! I had yaki udon noodles. We also ordered some yellow tail, salmon and tuna ngiri and smoked salmon ngiri, very tasty first for either of us! We ordered the Uni ngiri. I was very nervous of the Uni as it smelled like the clam, but I dove in with a little wasabi and let me tell you, it was like butter so delicious 🤤🤤😋. He recommended trying an uni quail egg shooter next time and I may take him up on that!
