This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. We were driving cross country, round trip for a fun beach vacation in Outer Banks with friends and family. We needed to stop on the way home with our two young children (5 and 3) and picked Country Inn; big mistake! We checked in at 10pm and immediately gave the kids showers. When trying to turn off the water, it didn't work and the water kept pouring out. We called front desk and he came to the room to check. He stated he couldn't fix it and needed to call maintenance. We didn't know why that wasn't his first call, especially considering he was moving in slow motion and it took him 30 minutes to even get to our room. It took over an hour and a half for maintenance to even arrive after many follow-up calls to front desk where he kept saying it would only be 10-15 minutes. This was beyond frustrating as we were trying to put our babies to sleep. The only offer from front desk was "you all can go to sleep and I can give maintenance a key so he can just go in"... who would agree to that?! Maintenance arrived around 1am and didn't finish until 2:45am. We even asked, after he turned off the water, if he can come back tomorrow after we checked out, to fix the shower piece but he said NO. He has the piece and wants to do it now. In the morning when I went to front desk to check out, the woman asked if we had a great stay and all I said was "honestly, no" and she replied "oh, were you in room XXX"... which was our room! I laughed and said yes and all she replied was "I am only able to give you a $50 refund". I am disgusted by the staff we encountered and will not be returning as a guest in the future. Things go wrong all of the time but how you treat people is how you set yourselves apart. It is apparent that at this property, guest experience is not a priority... only the...
Read moreHorrible Employees here!!! I am staying for a corporate stay and several issues took place. 1st off the front desk agent did not know how to do her job and ran my card twice! She kept telling me it didn’t go thru and wanted to run it one more time- thankfully I felt like she wasn’t right so I checked my bank and low and behold she had double charged me already. She didn’t know how to fix the issue “a manager would be in touch with me “ 2nd- There is a coating of ice right outside their entry door, no salt on it nothing… and my wife slipped and fell on it- we reported it to same lady, Lori, who didn’t care at all, did not offer an apology just was like yeah looks like your knees is a little scraped up! Asked to fill out an incident report and she DENIED it!! Would not let us fill one out! What!?!?!? But to top it all off- my wife has a service animal. The hotel DENIED to let us have her. Mind you 1st off that only a week ago I was at this same hotel and had NO issues with her being here- front desk agent gave me a slip to keep in the room saying she was approved etc. 2nd under the ADA act my service animal should never be denied!!!! It’s a federal law!!! We also travel with all her proper documents and the front desk agent wouldn’t even look at them. She said “no my manager said you have to leave now with her and go stay somewhere else” are you KIDDING me!?!? She flat out just discriminated against myself, my wife and her disability! How horrible can you possibly be!! I am appalled, I’ve never had anyone ever treat us this way. She’s been to restaurants, other hotels, shopping etc and has never been turned away. We will definitely be filing with the ADA. How really inhumane of this place!...
Read moreAt midnight my wife and I were woke by the a number of people having what sounded like a party. Neither of the phones in the room worked so calling the front desk didn’t work. The party lasted over 30 minutes. In the morning In the morning I saw two staff members outside the building smoking. No one was at the front desk. I asked one of the night staff members what was going on with the loud noises around midnight. The second staff members said to the other, “oh that’s when we were talking to the people who came in late last night.” The other staff members said she didn’t think they were that loud. I angrily told her that they were loud enough to wake both my wife and I. She said, well we were just greeting people as they came back to the hotel. Then she said why didn’t you tell us to be quiet. We would have. I said I should not have to tell employees at a hotel to be quiet at 12:30 AM. I left
As I was dropping my keys off I asked for a receipt. The employee again came up and made a half hearted attempt to apologize, but again stated that it was my fault for not coming down. I guess I should have gotten dressed and came down to the front desk and told your employees to be quiet. I asked her why she failed to do her number 1 job at night, to keep the hotel quiet, and she said she thought she had.
There is no excuse for two employees of a hotel to make so much noise that it wakes people up. Laughing and having a good time at the front desk can happen during the day time not while people who spent nearly $200 a night for a place to rest are...
