Saw this new place go in and wanted to try it. It’s mediocre at best. Our server did not speak the greatest English so we had a difficult time getting clear answers to questions. We order a lot of different food anytime we go to a new place so so that we can get a feel for it. Chips and salad were nothing special but we ate them all. Ordered the guacamole which was oddly served directly on a bed of shredded lettuce and tasted like the powder mix you can get at the store m. Not impressed for its hefty price tag. Chorizo taco was more beans than anything, didn’t taste chorizo at all. Smothered burrito was one of the least favorites I have had and the rice and beans were clearly from a can. The enchiladas were okay but the sauce they came with was grainy and had a very distinct/strong flavor of a powdered spice but I could t figure out what. Tried the churros which were good but messy, would rather have had dipping sauce for then vs. drizzle. The flan don’t have much flavor and again was just drizzled in some cheap hersheys sauce (watched her do it). I hate fake whip cream and it came right from a can. Unfortunately it’s a loss for us and we won’t be going back. We love a good Mexican food joint but this just wasn’t it. Both my husband and I had severe heart burn/reflux issues that night which is not normal for us after eating Mexican food. She called into work and I threw up so much my throat started bleeding. Try at...
Read moreNew restaurant, bittersweet for me Acapulco was always my favorite spot and has been for a very long time. I was happy to see someone take it's place. Especially knowing you have extremely big shoes to fill, Acapulco always killed it. I will be the first one to say it was good, it was different if you're looking for it to be the same don't expect that that expectation is unrealistic. I have extremely high hopes for their menu, my understanding and what I got told is it's not finished. Which is a great thing for me they plan on offering something that Acapulco never had. I will continue to update my review. And if you have not already tried this place you should. The chili verde is definitely good.. It is not exactly what I want, what makes me excited is they are trying to put chili Colorado on the menu. That was the make break for me, I will continue going to this location from what I see a lot of hard work and dedication went into putting it together. I think that as this place grows it will grow into the same thing that it replaced or better.
Update Still as good as ever....
Read moreLa Fogata!! Should have written this a couple weeks ago when me and my wife went there for the first time. Initially we were suppose to go to another place but the wait time was too long for our liking. So we came to La Fogata last minute. Had no idea they were about to close for the night and felt bad we ended up being the last people to eat there. We apologized but they were so grateful we were even there. The hospitality & service from the employees were out of this world. We felt so welcomed. My wifes go to is always a chicken chimichanga and she says it was the best chimichanga she’s ever had. 😋 I had to have a bite of course and it did not disappoint. I had the Mexican steak with potatoes, beans and rice with tortilla and it was a hit as well 🔥 Also the drinks were delicious. We will definitely be back and love that it’s close to our...
