Entrance was inviting but the hostess appeared to be angry like we were inconveniencing him. We were sat immediately and they accommodated us by sliding over a smaller table so the 5 of us can sit together. While we were waiting for our server we noticed the servers, baristas, and floor managers all appeared unhappy. I'm not sure what happened, if anything did happen, but there was a negative vibe throughout the staff. Food ordered was kids' pancakes with Nutella, huevos pericos, and a croque madame. Pancakes were dense but flavorful, Huevos pericos were delicious, and the croque madame was bland and difficult to eat. The Croque Madame presented like a Publix sub but with a baguette- everything drips or slides out and the bread doesn't get to soak up the egg yolk or bechamel. I had to ask for bachamel sauce since it was missing. I tried eating it with a fork and knife but the crust of the baguette required a steak knife, not a butter knife. I gave up on the sandwich and instead asked for a croissant. The croissant took about 10 minutes and the center was refrigerator cold while the crust was warm. The manager was told by the server my opinion on the food and he appeared like he did not want to be bothered. On my receipt the manager didn't comp the croque madame so I left it as is. I would understand to leave it on the bill if I ate 1/4 of the meal, but it was two bites. First and last time at this place for breakfast. The bakery and coffee probably serve decent food items and beverages. I recommend Bonjour Bakery for a decent French...
Read moreWe were a group of 5 and came for a Sunday lunch. The place was quite busy, but we were seated quickly. After 20 minutes of sitting there, however, the waiter informed us it would be a 30 minute wait for the kitchen, which is a little frustrating because we weren’t informed of that when we walked in. The waiter was very nice and accommodating though. After the wait, someone in our group finally received their food, but we wouldn’t receive our food for probably another 10
The food was pretty mid overall, and I was not impressed by the coffees at all. The American coffee tasted ok, but they could definitely make it better. It tasted like a cheap coffee that you buy in a plastic bin. The Nutella iced coffee drink follows the old Cuban saying: “aunque la mona se viste de seda, mona se queda.” It was mid coffee with Nutella. The flavors didn’t blend at all and the Nutella would gum up the straw. The pancakes and the French toast were pretty terrible. They were dry and flavorless. A frozen waffle thrown in a toaster would be better. Other than those two, the food was good. Then it took forever to get the check.
Overall mid experience. There are clear areas for improvement. Coffee was disappointing for the café vibes that the atmosphere was giving. Maybe just...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting La Boulangerie, and I couldn't be more impressed! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting, and the restaurant was spotlessly clean with ample seating available.
Our waitress, Misleidy C., was incredibly attentive and friendly. She greeted us warmly and asked if it was our first time visiting, which it was. Misleidy took the time to explain that breakfast came with fresh orange juice and coffee, which was a nice touch. When we placed our order, she even showed us a picture of what we had chosen to ensure we would enjoy it—a thoughtful gesture that made us feel valued.
The service was impressively quick; we ordered at 11:07, and our food was ready by 11:12, despite the restaurant being quite full. Misleidy also suggested different types of milk for our coffee, which I appreciated.
After our meal, we decided to grab a pastry to go. The lady at the counter was equally courteous, making our experience even better.
Overall, La Boulangerie offers fair prices, fast service, and a very friendly staff. We will definitely be returning for more delicious food and...
