Fantastic! Absolutely fantastic! Just opened but recommended heavily to anyone that wants to truly enjoy and experience New England and/or great old sailing vessels such as the Bluenose and fishing schooners of Glocester. Fantastic preservation of an often far too overlooked piece of true American history. There is a full service covered all ages allowed bar on the main deck and a furnished dining room below decks. The ship itself was an ambassador to Massachusetts in previous times. The food offered is seafood such as Lobster Rolls and Steamers at pricier than average rates, but anywhere else in Kennebunkport would have the same prices or would be more expensive, so don't be discouraged by prices. Furthermore, the crew aboard are friendly and warm hearted, guaranteed to make your time better. The restaurant is surrounded by a beautiful view of Kennebunkport's harbor and colonial style buildings. Water is crystal clear for a northern climate too! Come here and I guarantee the Spirit Restaurant will quite literally float your boat....

The atmosphere truly sets this place apart – being on board a ship within a dockyard stand offers such a unique and incredible view of Kennebunkport. It's definitely a one-of-a-kind setting. The drinks were good, though perhaps not the absolute best I've ever had, they certainly hit the spot. However, the appetizers were fantastic! We particularly enjoyed the coconut shrimp and the haddock bites, which were both incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. Service was a bit on the slower side, as the staff seemed very busy trying to attend to a large number of people. While it took a little longer to get our orders, we were in great company, so it didn't detract too much from our overall enjoyment. If you're looking for a place with an unbeatable atmosphere and delicious appetizers, especially during happy hour, Spirit of Massachusetts is definitely...
Read moreWas here last year and it was wonderful. The lobster was huge and delicious. Wait staff was awesome. Couldn't wait to come back this year. Was really looking forward to it. What a disappointment! I ordered the pound and a quarter lobster and got about a quarter lobster. It was called a lazy lobster. It was lazy alright...it left three quarters of itself behind. I'm a fisherman and have been eating lobster most of my life. The bill came and I was charged for a pound and a quarter lobster. When I addressed the waitress Emma about it she became argumenative and defensive...not a great response. I've been eating lobster far before she was born. I wasn't looking for an argument but she continued on. She came back with a reduced bill and an increased attitude. Thanks so much for the disappointment! Your wait staff should be better trained and more mannerly. She speaks ill for this entitled know it all generation. God...
