HORRIBLE. I purchase a ring from this store on June 6th. The ring was a beautiful anchor ring from the Anchor Me Bracelet line... or so I thought. I was told at the time of purchase that the ring was sterling silver, but yet three days from the time of purchase, the ring started to turn to brass!! I would never have bought the ring had I known it was only silver plated. (I have purchased costume jewelry for the same price that held up WAY better than this ring.)
So, I contacted the store on 6/10 and spoke to a super sweet young lady that was very apologetic. She said she would speak to the store manager, and they would contact me about how they would handle the situation. I was told that they were mislead about the quality of the ring, and that they would contact the vendor and get back to me.
I gave them a week to address the situation, and I never heard back, so I called again to follow up. The nice young lady apologized again, and said she would have the manager call me. Again, after a few more days, NO call from the manager. I called again. The nice young lady told me to call over the weekend because the manager would be working all weekend. I called numerous times over the weekend, and each time I called, the woman answering the phone (the manager, perhaps?) told me that the manager was not in. As I started to ask what the manager's name was, and when she would be in, the woman hung up the phone on me. The next time I called and asked if the manager was in, the woman said "no" and hung up immediately. I called right back for more information, and the woman would not answer the phone. For the rest of the weekend, each time I called, my phone call was not answered (Perhaps this is presumptuous, but I'm convinced my number was on caller ID, and I was being intentionally ignored.)
I'm still waiting to discuss this issue with the manager, but my dissatisfaction is clearly being disregarded, which - for a $25 ring - it's a bit concerning. (It's not like we are talking about a $150 purchase here.) If she can't take care of a dissatisfied customer who only wants a $25 issue resolved, I can't imagine how she might handle someone who made a more expensive purchase!
At the end of the day, I'm incredibly disappointed - not only with my purchase from this store - but even more so with the unprofessional way in which they have handled...
Read moreI have nothing bad to say about anything in Maine or it’s people, but this place is by far one of the worst establishments I have ever been to. Ordering at the counter, I asked the gentleman a question about one of their sandwiches to clarify there was not an ingredient my son would be allergic to. He in turn went to the cook to clarify what was actually in the sandwich in to which the cook replied “tell her to go read the menu outside”. Next, my son went to grab two waters from the cooler and he was mumbling “what’s that kid doing?” in a very rude manner. I felt badly for the young man working at the cash register as he was just trying to be helpful but the cook (if you would even call him that) was by far THE rudest man I have ever met in Maine or anywhere for that matter. If that were my son working for that man, I would immediately demand he quits! No one should work under such a rude man. I cancelled my order as soon as he mumbled at my son for picking out two waters. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone simply for their rude and unkind service. What a pity a prime spot like that is being taken up in Kennebunkport with such rude and...
Read moreOh boy, where do I even start with Old Salt’s Pantry? If you’re looking for a place that understands how to satisfy a ravenous appetite, look no further. This morning, I had the pleasure of devouring their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, and let me tell you, it was like the breakfast gods themselves had a hand in crafting it. The bacon was crispy, the egg was perfectly cooked, and the cheese—ah, the cheese! Premium Boar’s Head, of course. It was the kind of sandwich that makes you reconsider all previous breakfast decisions in your life.
But let’s rewind to yesterday, when I tackled their Thanksgiving sandwich. Piled high with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a generous helping of Boar’s Head turkey, it was a feast in between two slices of bread. I’m pretty sure I experienced every Thanksgiving dinner I've ever had all at once. If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like to be on a culinary pilgrimage, this is it. Each bite was like a nostalgic hug from a turkey-loving grandmother.
In summary, Old Salt’s Pantry is where your taste buds go to party, and the DJ is Boar’s Head. Don’t walk—run there. You can...
