I have been going to Olde Towne Tavern since 2003 and I haven’t found a more comfortable tavern to watch sports, entertain some friends, or just relax after a hard day’s work at. If a sports bar is what you’re looking for then this is where you need to go. They have many flat screens as well as projection screens for those big games to watch which kind of reminds me of a Sports Book in Vegas. This restaurant’s floor plan is nice too, there’s a large front bar as well as a back bar that gives you many areas if you only want to watch a game and have a drink. The main seating is located around the bars but separated enough that you can bring in your family and not worry about others at any of the bars. There are also 2 restroom areas on both sides of the tavern so you don’t have to wait in any lines. I’ve been to other sports bars like Buffalo Wild Wings (tiny wings), Taco Mac, Hudson Grille, Hooters (if you can call that a sports bar), Tilted Kilt and Twin Peaks but I like personality as well as being comfortable and these bars feel too generic and too corporate run for my taste.
Also I like a tavern to have a large menu so I can have many options and Olde Towne has just that. I consider myself as a buffalo wing guru and these are the larger wings and there’re many sauces to choose from and their homemade sauces are actually the better ones in my opinion! But if you don’t want the regular bar food there’s many entrees, sandwiches, salads and homemade pizzas to choose from.
But what really puts this tavern over the rest is the staff! From the hostess all the way up to the owner (who seems to always be on site and engaging) they all seem to enjoy working and that is important to me because I know if they enjoy being there then I definitely know that I would enjoy being there as well! Now being a customer that is a man who likes sports bars and not being sexist, this tavern has an all-female bar tending staff which I think is important for a sports bar. I think most men would agree with me that most of us would prefer to have a female bar tender at a sports bar rather than male bar tender! :) Plus the hostesses, waitresses and bar tenders all seem to have 2 things in common, very attentive and attractive!! :)
So if you’re looking for a great place for sports, drinks, food and a good time out then this...
Read moreThis was the first time I ever been to this location and it will be my last. First of all, the list of beers I've heard available here was highly over sold, and were really no different than the beers you could get on tap at any other bar in the area. Second, the wait when we first walked into the door was not really the best (25 minutes for a table for four while we noticed a couple tables that were open that could of sat four people) but we thought it might of been worth it. Once sat ordered a Blue Moon on tap, received it in a warm glass with no orange slice. Ordered the Drunken Onions: the onion rings were bland in flavor. There were three sauces that were given with the 6 onion rings, BBQ, a sweet chili sauce and ranch which were all very tasty. But there was enough sauce given to us that would have been enough for another three orders of those onion rings, way too much. Nobody even attempted to try and clear the empty app basket and plates as the entrees were brought out, and nobody offered to refill empty glasses or beers, making us have to stack our empty dishes in the middle of the table as we tried to enjoy our meals. Ordered the BBQ burger: The bbq sauce was tasty, but was the only thing that had flavor on the entire plate. The Burger itself was very bland, a burger from Five Guys has more flavor then this one had and is less the cost! The fries that came with the burger were also bland, no real flavor other than the potato it was made of. Family ordered the Fish and Chips, Parmesan Chicken Sandwich with fries, and Pepperoni Pizza, and it was all lacking any kind of real flavor, not even salt or pepper on it! Waitress never even offered us dessert or asked how everything was, seemed interested in just getting us out. Overall, it was ok but definitely not worth driving all the...
Read moreHorrible experience. I waited 10 minutes to be greeted and finally seated. Once seated I ordered a drink and club sandwich right away, for I am on a short lunch break. My server passes me 4-5 times with no drink in hand. Finally, about 12 minutes later I finally get my drink.
Already slightly turned off, I still hang in there to see if the food would make up for the horrible service. I did not. It not only was worse than the service, but looked horrible. It was their club sandwich, something basic and simple - yet they managed to ruin it. The meat tasted like cheap lunch food from high school. The platting of the meal was messy and I had no room for ketchup.
My server did not ONCE stop by the check in or ask how it was. I waited endlessly for a refill, which I never received. I needed to wash the taste of this food out of my mouth. I debated just walked out half way through, but I could not dine and dash a business like that.
This place use to be great and had quality food. But to be honest, the quality of this meal was on point to fast food. Very poor experience. Will not be coming back.
Management has no clue what's going on and their servers run around aimlessly at times.
I finished half my sandwich and called it a day. I wouldn't feed this food to the...
