Konich's Teriyaki — Restaurant in Kent

Ordered teriyaki chicken and teriyaki beef to go. Checked it out at restaurant, seemed okay. Went home. I then smelled and tasted the beef, checked out. Tasted and smelled the chicken, yuck. At first, I couldn't recognize the smell. It smelled like it was spoiled and tasted funny which I had to spit it out. I travelled all the way back. I told him what happened and only wanted to take back the chicken. Then I told her to smell it. She smelled and said it was good. Typical. I just wanted my money back. The man who took my order seemed angry. He told me to never come back. Okay. I wasn't yelling and throwing a huge fit. He then started to shoo me away as some fly. So I told him I'm going to take back both. Don't be so disrepectful! He started to yell "No". When I came back I admitted I ate some of the food, but not five bucks which is what he tried to give me. I told him I wanted all of it. He reluctantly gave me some of the money back. He tried to short change me again and still shooing me. This place was busy on Friday night when we tried to make our order by phone. They didn't answer and we were already on our way there so we just ordered when we got there!

Hubby and I both ordered the short ribs and egg rolls.

The short ribs had lots of flavor and very little fat or gristle on them so the only thing that was left was the little bones. The rice....I mean you really can't mess that up! Lol. The salad...LOVE the dressing

Egg roll was very good too! I just wish there was some sweet and sour sauce that came with it as it would make it that much better IMO! I think we had to wait about 15-20 minutes for our food which was enough time to go to McDonald's for their $1 sweet tea! . Nope, didn't feel guilty about doin that as we spent over $$60 and hubby gave a $15 tip to this small business. Then spent $4.40 for 4 soft drinks!

Place looked clean, only 3 people allowed in restaurant at a time and no indoor seating at this point when we were there last week! They also have a frequent guest card where you buy 10 meals and get ?? Off or free which is great if you go there often!

Honestly, I moved out of the area some time ago after living here FOREVER, I recently came back and was sad to see that this place had switched owners, they no longer offer the free egg drop soup, the portion was kind of small, and as I was leaving with my to go order I noticed the "OKAY" that was their health board rating as I was leaving, damn it, wish I had noticed sooner. Took my chances, wasnt going to waste $40, the food was just kinda meh. How do you F up rice? Somehow they did. I was overall dissatisfied and I will not be returning. The restaurant itself seemed more dingy and just not welcoming, even the 2 people that were eating there were eating out of the to go containers, not plates as it used to be when you ate in.
