I stopped in here one evening about 7:30 on a Wednesday and was greeted with a restuarant that was three quarters full and buzzing. Awesome environment for a mid week dinner run. I was greeted promptly by my server who sat me at my table and immediately got my drink order and some fresh chips and salsa brought to the table. I browsed over the menu for about five minutes before I thought I made up my mind. I was going to get the enchilada plate and add 3 more enchiladas to it for a total of six. Mind you I was starving I had worked all day long clearing cedar and hadn't eaten since breakfast. At the last second I abruptly changed my mind for the enchiladas verdes and holy cow were they delicious. Homemade tortillas for the base stuffed to the brim with shredded chicken and then covered generously but not smothered with a fantastic tomatillo sauce. The enchiladas verdes also came with rice and beans and when the waiter came to ask if everything tasted alright he was already able to take a clean plate. I devoured every last bite on my plate and was left utterly satisfied not only with the food, but the atmosphere and the wait staff which are top notch. Will definitely be making another trip over that when here in the very...
Read moreYeah so this place is not professional customer service at all! I ordered Toasted bread and received bread with no butter. I asked if he didn’t mind adding butter to it (in which usually all restaurants I’ve ever been to bring you toasted buttered bread for your shrimp soup) he brought me little cubes of frozen butter and stated I can spread it on the bread. I waited just a bit until I could talk to another waiter and the next waiter instead of making it right and bringing me another bread toasted with butter from the back, told me I’d be ordering another order of bread. I’m sorry but somebody that has worked with people all my life this just isn’t the best way these waiters could have handled this. Instead of the “oh there’s a problem let’s fix it” attitude I got a bad experience and don’t want to just ramble on and on about these horrible waiters but on the ups the food was really good, good place to eat just hope you don’t get the...
Read moreAnother incredible experience! Pulled into a gas station and asked the lovely lady at the pump if she knew where to find the best food and drinks in town. She turned around and pointed across the street at El Sombrero. From the second we walked in till the second we left we were attended to and treated like we belonged there! Ephraim was our waiter and he made the BEST recommendations and was incredibly attentive! He recommended the Steak Ranchero which was the most tender and flavorful piece of meat south of Waco! It was happy hour and he recommended the house margaritas, on the rocks, which were wellllllllllllll worth the $12 each. Had to leave half of the second one behind! If you’re anywhere near Kerrville, do yourself a favor and stop into El...
