Vecinos Cafe — Restaurant in Kerrville

As soon as I had one bite of the roasted, smokey salsa I was immediately optimistic. Everything about Vecinos is legit, from the airy chips to the attentive, friendly service to the remarkable birriaqueso tacos. The price is worth it, my wife said the Elote bowl was the best she's ever had. And dare to try at least a taste of their thicker, spiciest salsa, it is an experience. This will be a one of those places that a food critic will wander into some day and write a crazy good review. You'll either be the person saying 'That's my go-to' or 'I've got to try it'. Overpriced and not Mexican food at all! This place is blend of different types of American and Hispanic recipes that don't work well together in the very least. Nothing stands out as stellar and I don't go by people who are from Kerrville because they will eat almost anything they don't have to cook and say it's great and if the restaurant has a decent atmosphere, they think they are eating at an "upscale" restaurant. Get a life and go to San Antonio or any major city! Skimpy portions that are overpriced and small and the preparation, quality, seasonings and end execution is sub par for any legitimate restaurant. My family will drive to San Antonio, before wasting our money and time...

Me and my friends stopped here on a road trip and we got the opportunity to try the food and chat with the staff! The gentleman who took our orders and brought our food was so wonderful. He offered some town recommendations like a walk down to the river after food, and was kind enough to chat with us about the trip we just took. On top of the amazing service, the food was delicious! I got the elote bowl with chicken which was so filling and the perfect lunch.
