We went there for dinner tonight. My mom always gets the fried shrimp dinner. She thought she would try the crab cakes as a meal and order two sides. She took one bite of the crab cake and said something didn't taste right. So my dad and I both tasted the crab cakes. They tasted like spoiled, old crabmeat. They were not edible. She had one whole crab cake other than the bite I took. The other crab cake was on my dad's plate because he had tried to taste it and couldn't eat it either. I did talk to the waitress and told her that something tasted very bad about it. A spoiled food flavor. And that I've had crab cakes, my husband makes them quite often. That's not how crab meat should taste. She said she was going to talk to the manager but no one ever came to our table. We were not looking for a free meal but she didn't eat them and get food poisoning. They could have given a discount on just her meal or offered her some thing different. My mom then ordered a key lime pie to go. The waitress brought the new ticket and took my payment. Brought back my receipt and credit card then just kept walking by our table several times never making eye contact. We waited over 15 minutes. I finally walked up to the bar and was able to talk to the manager. I asked about how long it to take to get the slice of key lime to go and if the waitress had mentioned anything about the crab cakes. She said yes, that the waitress had said they weren't made like your husband's. I said that's not what I said, I said they tasted spoiled and that I knew what to crab meat was supposed to taste like. (Definitely not fishy like the rotten smell at the beach.) She said they were made fresh that morning and were selling them all day. Did not say sorry or is there anything that they can do to remedy the bad meal. Basically blew off and ignore the problem. She then went to get the key lime and thought she was being nice to bring us two pieces to go. She missed the whole issue. Point was our waitress never came back by after she added the key lime pie to the bill. It is a very small restaurant and she kept walking by us and would not give any eye contact. My mom did not have a meal except for the two sides she'd ordered. The two crab cakes tasted spoiled and not edible. The kicker is no one apologized for our dissatisfaction. And the extra piece of pie that no one wanted was going to solve the lack of a meal. The positive is my dad's fried shrimp and oysters were good. My shrimp tacos, the shrimp were good but slaw was...
Read moreWahoo's Seafood Co. in Kerrville, Texas, may not have an impressive exterior, but don't let that fool you. This restaurant serves some of the most delicious seafood dishes that you will ever taste. My experience there was with a group of friends who were celebrating a birthday, and we all agreed that Wahoo's was the perfect choice for our evening meal. One of the standout features of Wahoo's Seafood Co. was our server, Alexa. She was charming, articulate, and described the menu items with a level of detail that impressed us all. In particular, her description of the Chef's entree was Shakespearean in precision, making us feel like we were about to dine on a meal of the highest caliber. As for the food itself, we were blown away by the quality of every dish we tried. Two of us had the Catfish Etoufee, one had the Red Fish Pontchartrain, and I had the Cajun Alfredo. Each meal was cooked to perfection, and the flavors were absolutely fantastic. The Cajun Alfredo was a personal favorite of mine, but I heard nothing but rave reviews from my companions about their dishes as well. The only downside of Wahoo's Seafood Co. is that it may become too popular, and too crowded. However, it's no surprise if that were to happen since it's a little gem in the heart of Kerrville, Texas. Overall, I highly recommend Wahoo's Seafood Co. to anyone looking for a fantastic seafood dining experience, and I cannot wait to...
Read moreI drive by Wahoo’s often and I promised myself to stop and sample. This afternoon, about five PM, I kept the promise. It’s a non discript exterior without a hint of the tasty seafood inside. Being a simple man with simple tastes, I ordered the fried shrimp/oyster platter. It came with two sides, but not really being a “sides” sorta guy, I ordered the fries and green beans. The stars of the platter, shrimp and oysters, were done to my liking with a crispy outer coating that was just right. The fries were very good and plentiful and the green beans were fresh and sweet. As I previously said, I’m not a sides guy but as I described, they were very worthy of this platter. All this was served to my by a friendly, smiling server who was very attentive to my table needs. The dining room was very comfortable with other guests chatting comfortably as being in their own home. I’m glad I kept my promise to myself to try it Wahoo’s. I plan to return often, the Cajun offerings...
